GOP ESTABLISHMENT MAKING ITS MOVE?
A well-funded “independent conservative” will announce their intention to seek the presidency this month, according to MSNBC television host Joe Scarborough.
The candidate – whom Scarborough declined to name – doesn’t appear to be particularly “independent,” though (at least not based on the source of their supposed funding).
“I had multiple sources telling me last night that an independent with a the backing of a lot of Republican money is going to launch today,” Scarborough said on his Morning Joe program.
Ah, “Republican money.” Because (sarcasm alert) nothing says “independent” or “conservative” like a bunch of special interests spending tens of millions of dollars to prop up another status quo big government politician.
So is this for real? Is the “Republican” establishment is finally making its move to elect Hillary Clinton? Is this the end of the charade of “unity” the party has been putting on in the aftermath of the nomination of Donald Trump last month?
We shall see …
In addition to Clinton and Trump, Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green party nominee Jill Stein will be on the ballot in most states.
And if you still don’t like your options, well … dig deeper.
UPDATE: Looks like the candidate to whom Scarborough was referring is former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and U.S. House of Representatives majority caucus staffer Evan McMullin.
