EX-GAMECOCK WIDE RECEIVER COULD GO TO CAROLINA PANTHERS
The lone bright spot in the forgettable downturn of the University of South Carolina’s football program over the past two seasons has been the play of wide receiver Pharoh Cooper. Seriously … if you are looking for post-2013 Gamecock highlights that don’t involve No. 11, the pickings are slim.

Where will Cooper be drafted? Good question …
The 5-foot-11, 207-pound wideout from Havelock, N.C. doesn’t have breakaway speed or prototypical NFL size … but he makes plays. Lots of them.
And he makes tacklers miss …
Cooper hauled in 69 passes for 1,136 yards and nine touchdowns in 2014. He also ran for 200 yards and a pair of scores and completed five of eight passes for a pair of touchdowns as well. His numbers tapered off in 2015, but South Carolina had no consistency at quarterback last season – and went through a midseason coaching change.
Most NFL draft analysts believe Cooper – who showcased his skills for scouts this week – will be taken somewhere in the mid-third round at next month’s draft. Although he has become a popular late-second round prospect for the Carolina Panthers – who hold the No. 62 overall selection.
“Cooper has become a polarizing prospect for fans, media, and scouts,” one Panthers beat writer noted. “While some see a dynamic playmaker, others see a limited athlete with average size and unpolished technique.”
Still, the writer added that “Cooper is arguably the best slot receiver in next month’s NFL Draft. As a third round prospect, Cooper is underrated and should be on a very short list of players to consider with the Panthers’ second round pick.”

He may be the first black possession receiver in the NFL. The guy does nothing but make plays and he will be a steal for someone.
Pharoh also seems like a great guy and teammate. Unselfish and hard working. Hope he has a long and productive NFL career.
But I wouldn’t call him the first black possession receiver. Remember Chris “all he does is catch touchdowns” Carter?
Another student athlete that will end up at the car wash.
We should pay these so called student athletes with the stipulation, if they do not graduate they must reimburse all wages to include their scholarship.

Making it big in the NFL… The chances on “making it” in the NFL are slim, but the rewards for “making it” are plentiful.
