BLACK VOTE CARRIES ESTABLISHMENT DEMOCRAT TO EMPHATIC VICTORY

The experts weren’t even close … nor were the pollsters.

Hillary Clinton – desperately needing a big win over Bernie Sanders – got it in early-voting South Carolina.  And then some.

The establishment Democratic – who had underperformed at every step of the 2016 election – shattered expectations in the Palmetto State, using the monolithic support of the state’s black vote to deliver a stunning beatdown of the Jewish socialist from Vermont.

“We stopped the revolution,” one Clinton backer told us.

Another Clintonista suggested a new hashtag for South Carolina Democrats: #NotFeelingTheBern.

Yeah.  They were not feeling it … not even a little bit.

With 99 percent of the vote counted, Clinton drew a whopping 73.5 percent of Democratic ballots – compared to 25.9 percent for Sanders.

Her massive margin of victory was far greater than the 14-28 percent margin that state Democratic operatives predicted earlier this week – to say nothing of the 27.5 percent advantage the final RealClearPolitics aggregate data projected.

The size of Clinton’s win in South Carolina could have profound implications on the Democratic race moving forward … namely because exposes Sanders’ inability to attract black voters.

Without them, Democratic candidates are dead in the water.

Of course Clinton’s candidacy could still be kaput given her ongoing email scandal – and the distinct possibility she could be indicated as a result of it.

One of the worst things that ever happened was the end of dueling. That’s been replaced by trolling.

Andy Jackson was good at duels, also.

The book I recommended has some interesting stories, and the State Museum may still have an exhibit on dueling which included newspaper stories and actual pistols.

Right, exactly 1,317 votes, for 0.36% of the total 368,577 cast statewide. At least he beat O’Malley’s 713!

Willie had door hangers on the counter at a Williamsburg County BBQ joint I patronized Saturday. He got 31 votes there to 4,609 for Hillary.

Reply

Probably should not reveal the work-around, but currently registered voters who qualify (e.g. being over 65) may vote absentee by mail even though they do not have an acceptable photo ID.

Actually, it seems to be more of a problem for old people of all races. A week or so ago NC news stations reported on an 86 year old white lady tried to obtain voter ID from the DMV and was turned down. She didn’t have documents from 1950, her marriage license and that she changed her middle name. After her son posted a rant on Facebook, someone in govt caught wind of it and issued her an ID (she had to sign an affidavit in lieu of the documents)

Tazmaniac February 28, 2016 at 12:15 pm

Real situations such as that are a teeny weeny tiny amount of Citizens who should have every possible accommodation to help them. The 20 million+ illegal foreign nationals in this country have no business being here let alone voting. It is insulting to Blacks and anyone with any intelligence to hear the Liberals say voter ID shuts out their votes because they are incapable of registration.

Reply
Tom February 28, 2016 at 5:47 pm

More Republican bull shit. The law was designed to make it difficult for poor people, people without transportation and college students to register. People who have voted for decades have to stand in line for hours, arrange for transportation, and pay the cost of obtaining lost documents, just to do what they have legally done in the past. There is zero evidence of illegal aliens registering to vote. Republican knew this law would disproportionately affect minorities and young people. It is voter suppression pure and simple. Most Repugnuts don’t even bother to lie about it any more. They are proud of it.
But they have the power to make it happen right now, and all those of us who know what they are doing can do is explain it to as many people as possible, so that the affected people know what was done to them so they will become mad as hell and make sure they run the GOP gauntlet and vote.

Flip February 29, 2016 at 8:39 am

The Republicans openly admit they pursue that stuff to stifle minority voters. In this video they have a clip where a guy comes right out and says they cut into 5% of Obama’s votes, thank goodness it didn’t change the results of the overall election though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHFOwlMCdto

Wow people in South Carolina are dumb. First Trump, and now Clinton! You must all think you’re in the 1%? You like perpetual war? Clinton is close friends with and takes advice from war criminal Henry Kissinger. She’s been endorsed by neocon Robert Kagan and takes advice from him (the same Robert Kagan who along with Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz and other warmongers of “The Project for a New American Century” designed George W. Bush’s foreign policy disasters). Kagan endorsed Hillary because he believes she’ll do more of the same – more war. Economically, she’ll throw some scraps to the majority of ordinary people after her millionaire and billionaire friends and funders have gorged themselves, but she doesn’t really care about you – you’ll see. She’s been caught in lie after lie after lie, and she’s so unprincipled she changes positions for political expediency and makes different promises to different audiences based on her calculations of what each audience wants to hear. Were you people even paying attention? Oh Lord, wtf were you morons thinking?!

When I give an “up” vote on some posts it’s not because I agree/support/understand the entire post — but it may be only for the effort and some reasonableness (to me) in the post. The first few years of Fitsnews there were a hell of a lot of “down” votes but I rarely see them now — I just ignore them.

Reply

idcydm, I know calling people dumb is judgmental and harsh, when what I really mean is people are choosing to remain willfully ignorant when enough information is available to make more informed choices if you make even a minimal effort. But more and more people seem to have become allergic to mental effort. I don’t have much patience for willful ignorance and lack of effort.

Those voters are wise enough to know there is no revolution coming, or at least the kind Bernie is promising. They live in a red state and in a country controlled by a Republican Congress.

Reply
Randy Hancock February 28, 2016 at 8:56 pm

That’s not wisdom. That’s giving up, sitting on their hands except to drop a ballot now and then, and then go back to sitting on their hands and let someone else do the work. Once upon a time our ancestors lived in a country controlled by the Red Coats of the British Empire. My paternal ancestors arrived here in the 17th century, and I’m glad their descendants in the 18th century had a different kind of wisdom from that you speak of. Of course, Bernie is speaking of a NONviolent POLITICAL revolution, and he says over and over that it will take all of us to achieve if we want it, but it will take much more effort than it seems most people are willing to give currently.

During the peak of African captivity in SC, Blacks outnumbered Whites 7 to 1, yet there were no successful revolts. Many historians claim & logic supports the theory that had the numbers been reversed a mass revolution would have immediate freed those in chains. Today’s status quo corroborates this proposition that something is seriously deficient with the “Black Mind.” Personally, being Black, I think they are suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome, or capture -bonding, a psychological phenomena in which hostages bond with their captors. It seem that the present population of African captives have fallen in love with their oppressors. Here Hillary Clinton in 1996 propounds that she is still a “Barry Goldwater girl.” He was one of the Senate’s most virulent racist who voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Bill.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sJ8PWmrUDw

Reply
sconset987 February 28, 2016 at 6:45 am

I think all this so called analysis misses the point for two reasons: 1. The Democratic nominee has ZERO chance of carrying this state in the general election. Who wins California, Florida, Ohio or New York is what matters if you are a Democrat, not South Carolina. 2. Turnout in the Democratic primary was maybe 20% of those who turned out for the Republican primary. So, for Clinton to claim a mandate from the results is like me claiming I won the lottery when my ticket is only worth $1.

Reply
tomstickler February 28, 2016 at 7:35 am

You are correct about Hillary’s November chances in SC. What is significant is that she stomped Bernie 3 to 1 yesterday, bringing her closer to being on the November ballot nationwide.

Just as a FYI, 745,405 voted in the Republican primary a week ago, 370,719 voted yesterday in the Democratic primary, so your “maybe 20%” is a little off. Since SC voters are not registered by party, anyone can vote in either primary, but not both.
