The Pope Versus The Donald

WAR OVER THE WALL …

Fiscally and socially liberal Pope Francis is no fan of GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Francis told reporters as he wrapped up a visit to Mexico.

Wow … really?

Last time we checked, this Pope – who has made his disdain for capitalism abundantly clear – said even atheists go to heaven.  So why would it matter if Trump was a Christian?

Never one to back down from a scrape, Trump issued a characteristically bombastic response …

“If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened,” he said.  “ISIS would have been eradicated unlike what is happening now with our all talk, no action politicians.”

Trump added that “for a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful.”

“I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President,” he said. “No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith. They are using the Pope as a pawn and they should be ashamed of themselves for doing so, especially when so many lives are involved and when illegal immigration is so rampant.”

Of interest? The Pope’s comment was made just days before GOP voters in South Carolina – a state featuring hundreds of thousands of evangelicals – go to the polls to make their presidential preference known.

Fortunately for Trump, the vast majority of those evangelicals are protestants – with Southern Baptists, Methodists and Presbyterians leading the way.

The Pope pimping for the power brokers – who would’ve thunk it

That is why they call it the Establishment. They cross boundaries of all sorts to work for a common goal which is to keep money, power and prestige for themselves!

+ 1000. If everyone saw this and heeded it, we could maybe make a difference. When you are told something it is an order. When you discover it yourself it is a revolution.

““A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Francis told reporters”

And given that the Pope lives in the Vatican, surrounded by walls, he should be the first to demonstrate what a good Christian he is by tearing them down.

Mr. Pope, Tear down this wall. Oh shit. Wrong Commie. LOL

This Pope is political and a liberal. I have always been respectful to the Popes, but no longer. He can exit stage left anytime he wants.

The Pope has lost sight of his duties. He is a religious leader, not a world leader. While some aspects of religion are intertwined with politics, he has overreached in his subtle comments of an American Presidential candidate. The Pope has lost my respect. He is just another clown dressed up in a silly costume.

Walls have been helpful to him. Just think how many pedophiles have been hidden away behind the Vatican walls.

Oh yea…they have walls and they are heavily guarded.

Oh yea. The border security at the Vatican, which is a nation, is among the strongest in the world.

Last time I was there I did not see anybody hopping the fence for a job or welfare benefits, instead I saw rich and poor pilgrims from all over the world buying stuff like it was a gift shop at Disney Land.

What a disgrace this Marxist pope is.The Vatican is surrounded by a 50 foot high wall,He attacks Trumps faith yet has he condemned Obama for being a Muslim appeasing ISIS lover or any of the other socialist/communist dictators he visits and praises? The Catholic Church has become a leftist /socialist cult.

There is no such critter in the Bible as a “Pope”. Their Prototype was a married Jewish fisherman, that denied Christ, and had Jesus speak directly to him as Satan. “Get thee behind me Satan” yup spoken to ….Peter.

Went to Rome in 1967, when I was in the Navy, up from Naples on a tour.
All I remember is in the whole country, there were no bars, therefore no whores, therefore no reason to stay.

I was in the Navy too. That’s the only time I went to Europe. I’d always get home-sick.

I was over there in 1966 and 1967, went into Naples both times. On the way in and out from Charleston, we were in Malta, Cannes, Rota. It was interesting in that there were still a large portion of the population that went through the Second World War and were really appreciative of the American effort, especially in France. Glad I got two trips over there.

When I was in France in ’66 and ’67, the French, at times, would pick up my bar tab.

idcydm February 18, 2016 at 6:30 pm

Things have changed a little in France. Did you hear about the French COL that complained about NATO meetings being conducted in English. A U.S. COL told him it was in English because we’re not all speaking German.

BTW never had a tab picked up while in Germany.

This might be interesting for Fits. When I use the lunascape 6 rowser, I get the following message.
“you attempted to reach http://www.fitsnews.com, but you actually reached a server identifying itself as
*.wpengine.com. An attacker on your network could be trying to to get you to visit a fake(and potentially harmful version of “www.fitsnews.com.”

It might be clue, it might be bullshit, but it is something.

only email i could locate was w@fitsnews.com

I have never emailed fits, so I don’t know.
I did receive an error message earlier today and posted it on another thread, hope they got it.
there is someone screwing around with Fitsnews and they need to get to the bottom of it.
the error message is in one of my earlier comments on this thread.

Christian Trump February 18, 2016 at 4:57 pm

I guess Trump is “no leader” since he has long questioned whether Obama is a Christian, made a knock on Carson’s religion and said how could Cruz be an Evangelical Christian since he was so dishonest.

The Vatican is surrounded by a huge, high wall. It is next to impossible, being allowed inside! Pope is allowing 2 two, one more than 1, one less than 3 Syrian refugees into Vatican City as a resident. The Pope is a devoted SOCIALIST from his positions taken, political and otherwise!
I see this MAN worshiped as a GOD and I have a great problem with it!! I’m Protestant Christian and when he lives as he asks me to, along with Bloomingburg, Slanders, bummer, and Hellnolery, I’ll think about what they say (key word think). The Pope has armed guards, Hillary has armed guards, Obama has armed guards and Bloomberg has armed guards! We the American Taxpayer DO NOT! NOT do as I do; but, do as I say!!!!
NO THANKS!!!!!!!

Well actually, if you just walk around the block, there’s a big huge, (huge I tell ya) square and entrance, and they let you walk in, (maybe a metal detector) – anyways – you gets to walk in and you can even buy stuff.

The Pope plays under different rules than most everyday people. He is very much a South American Socialist and fails to recognize that the political system he espoues has put many people in poverty and pain.
He needs to realize that the capitalistic system has done more to relieve pain and suffering than any other economic system on earth.
The Pope needs to get a grip and stop his bitching.

Reply
Mom February 19, 2016 at 10:41 am

The Pope is out of touch with reality. You are dreaming if you think he will change. This Pope has waffled and said so many outrageous things which is diminishing his power and respect.

Interesting that the communist pope invoked Aristotle regarding being a “political animal.” Aristotle believed in a strong nation state being the hallmark for a healthy civic society. A nation state is the essential organic result of healthy societies represented by the same blood, culture, creed, and borders that they defend.

Wall/border for me but not for thee.
