ORGANIZATION ATTACKS COMPANY FOR “HUMANIZING FETUSES”

Super Bowl 50 was a defensive struggle devoid of much in the way of fireworks.  And the television advertisements accompanying the big game were a big disappointment.  And the halftime show?  Ugh.  Let’s not even go there …

But there was no shortage of Super Bowl Sunday action coming from NARAL – one of the nation’s leading pro-abortion advocacy groups.

NARAL had previously promised its 50,000 Twitter followers that the organization would be live-tweeting during the Super Bowl in search of “sexist” television ads.

And it found plenty of them … along with one “transphobic” Snickers ad.

(Really?)

Take a look …

Of course this garden variety political correctness escalated to another level when the group attacked Doritos (well, Frito-Lay) for running an ad portraying a human fetus as (gasp!) a person … one interested in scarfing down some chemically coated corn chips.

Take a look …

Wow …

Not surprisingly, there was backlash … well-deserved backlash, at that.

“The trouble for NARAL and other pro-choice advocates is that technological advances like ultrasounds have become some of the most powerful arguments on the pro-life side,” Sarah Rumpf wrote for NRO. “Even at the earliest stages of a pregnancy, it is clearly evident that the image an ultrasound shows is a tiny little human, and countless parents have watched that screen in amazement, overjoyed to see their baby for the first time and hear its heart beating.”

“By showing a ‘fetus’ as not a ‘clump of cells’ but a tiny human being, Doritos exposed the weakness of the pro-abortion worldview: The commitment to denying the humanity of the unborn child is in conflict with basic common sense. Those who prefer to describe their side as ‘pro-choice’ cannot tolerate any evidence that shows the human life that ‘choice’ could be ending,” Rumpf added.

We agree …

There is absolutely nothing wrong with humanizing fetuses. In fact, it’s wrong to dehumanize them because doing so denies them their fundamental nature – and deprives them of the inalienable rights which ought to flow from it.

In previous years, the NARAL controversy might have been glossed over – or even accepted as a rational addition to the vanguard of current PC thought. But this year’s antics come barely half a year after Planned Parenthood – a government-subsidized abortion provider – made international news via its gruesome fetal body parts scandal. Like the Kermit Gosnell scandal of 2013, the Planned Parenthood debacle has opened people’s eyes to the pure savagery of abortion-on-demand.

And now NARAL has opened their eyes to the hypocrisy of the “pro-choice” movement …

Got to admit that I find this to be juvenile and a huge stretch and I am pro-choice….but Mr. Folks, you really need to drop the attack on Planned Parenthood…you are starting to sound like one of those guys who, “knows how hot fire must burn to melt steel” ie 9/11 conspiracy….no proof to support the videos and the makers are probably headed for jail time….

Get real, Will. You support warmongering assholes like Trump and now pretend you’re concerned with the lives of others? Whatever. And the whole video thing falsely claiming PP was killing people and selling baby parts was a total fraud. So much so, that when Texas Grand Jury looked into PP, they found them innocent and charged the FILMMAKERS with crimes, including trying to obtain human organs.

Calling fetuses “people” does not make them people. As I testified before the Kentucky General Assembly House Judiciary Subcommittee on Hearings on Abortion, 14 February 1972:

You will note that I referred to the developing human life. It would be disingenuous for me to maintain that it was anything other than human life, and an insult to your intelligence to attempt to do so. It certainly is neither fish nor fowl, nor anything but human life. I maintain, nevertheless, that this human life has no right to control the lives and the destiny of the two born human beings into whose lives it has intruded. It has no right to “life” in the sense that it has no right to birth. I wish to make this semantic distinction. That is a privilege that can be granted or withheld by the man and the woman who have the power to do so.

The 14th Amendment to the Constitution applies to “people” born in the United States, not to ova fertilized in the US.

Reply

They took money to pay for the preservation of the tissue from when the abortion occurred to when it was delivered to the research companies. It is not unreasonable to charge for that.

“The term “valuable consideration” does not include reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue.”

Rocky Verdad February 8, 2016 at 12:15 pm

Nice non-sequitur attack there Keith. NARAL’s complaint was that the Dorito’s commercial “humanized the fetus” and was some how pro-life.

I have news for the witches at NARAL – that thing in a pregnant woman’s womb, yeah, that’s a human. A few words of advice for you witches: get a sense of humor, get a life – and let “fetuses” have theirs.

Politics aside, the commercial wasn’t really funny. Overly stereotypical tropes are boring.

Reply

I thought it was pretty funny and you’re missing the real point here – Doritos couldn’t buy this kind of buzz with a mere $5,000,000. The purpose of advertising is to get people interested in the product – Doritos will be talked about for the rest of the week.

I read it – doesn’t change a thing I said.

The case against CMP will rapidly fall apart.
The major charge is using a fake ID, really, that’s the best they could come up with?

The misdemeanor charge is for “buying fetal body parts” (not attempting to buy) – if there was a buyer, there must have been a seller and (un)PP somehow skates on that?

Reply
keith poe February 8, 2016 at 10:41 am

Actually attempting to commit a felony is just as bad as committing a felony….just go ask any one of the convicted domestic terrorists who tried to buy weapons from an undercover FBI agent and got caught…I am sure there were no weapons to be had, but that doesn’t forgive your intent…

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 10:56 am

Again, a non sequitur. They don’t deny they used a fake ID. The issue is what was it used for – the answer, to expose a crime (namely the selling of fetal tissue by (un)Planned Parenthood. No domestic terrorism, no weapons, no FBI sting.

keith poe February 8, 2016 at 11:02 am

Well, they didn’t expose a crime did they….and you can try to defend the slimy, deceitful POS all you want but his little editing tricks have been exposed and every investigation ordered by the anti-choice Conservative leaders at both the State and Federal level have found no evidence of his claims. He will end up on the ash heap of history like your other fraud hero Timothy O’Keefe….

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 11:10 am

No, in the US 1,900 babies are aborted every day. Too high, again, teach these Mom’s how to use a condom, or tie their tubes. In fact, that’s my compromise for you. If a woman goes in to get an abortion of convenience, then make it mandatory she gets her tubes tied. She can untie them later.

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 10:04 am

Yeah, Flip, I appreciate the sentiment but you give Pro Lifers a bad name when you spout bullshit. There were about 1.2 million abortions last year – that equals just over 3, 280 abortions a day.

Reply
Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:06 am

I stand corrected. That was the ‘world’ statistic.

According to WHO, every year in the world there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions. This corresponds to approximately 125,000 abortions per day. In the USA, where nearly half of pregnancies are unintended and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion [1] , there are over 3,000 abortions per day.

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 10:07 am

Now for the rest of the story – that’s about 2,900 too many.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:10 am

I saw the true evil of the pro abortion/PP for the first time outside of a clinic in Fort Wayne, Indiana-early 90’s.

The women would go in.Shortly after that a nurse would come down to the locked glass door and hold up with her fingers the number of the baby they just killed.

It was really disturbing.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:13 am

Their bodies, their choice.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:21 am

“If a mother can kill her own children, then what can be next?” Mother Teresa once asked.

What indeed?

Once the value of human life has been depreciated, as in Roe v. Wade and the Baby Doe Case, no one is safe. Once “quality of life” is substituted for the absolute value of human life itself, we all are endangered.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:54 am

Rocky Verdad February 8, 2016 at 12:09 pm

tomstickler February 8, 2016 at 1:49 pm

What were you doing lurking around all day in front of a Ft. Wayne abortion clinic, “Flip”? Screaming at the women going in? Putting grisly pictures in front of their faces? Writing down their license plate numbers? You are disturbed.

Rocky Verdad February 8, 2016 at 12:08 pm

Actually Colonel CDC reports the annual number of abortions performed in the US at about 1,900 per day. Now, of those, how many are associated with miscarriage, deformed or deceased fetus, parents who decide against a child that is verified to have severe birth defects – I don’t know the answer to that – but it’s not all “Leroy knocked me up and I’ze don’ want it.”

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 12:33 pm

I was using lasts year’s numbers only to illustrate the idiocy of believing the 120,000 a day reported.

Less than 10% are the combined total of “rape (1%), incest(>.5%), mother’s health (4%), fetal health (3%)” i.e. “medically related”. http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/abreasons.html

The vast majority are “lifestyle issues” – my job, his job, no job, too young, too old, blah blah blah. All of those issues could have better been dealt with by birth control. This is a matter of personal responsibility – for both the woman and the broke ass man with no job. She shouldn’t have been making the beast with two backs with his ass to begin with.

Rocky Verdad February 8, 2016 at 1:08 pm

If you’ve ever been to a third world port city, they’re very adapt at this. They have condom dispensers – condoms for a quarter.

The Colonel (R) February 8, 2016 at 2:08 pm

We don’ even charge for them – you can go into most any clinic (and many high school nurses offices) and get them for free.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:09 am

So what, how is the US responsible for abortions happening in other countries?

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:13 am

Not responsible.Just making a point that you soul less America hating liberals have created a culture of death in this country by exterminating the unborn.

You people are no different than ISIS.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:14 am

No you are padding your numbers to bash PP when PP is responsible for little more than 2% of your original number. In short you lied through your teeth like you always do.

Flip February 8, 2016 at 10:18 am

Partial-Birth Abortion is a procedure in which the abortionist pulls a living baby feet-first out of the womb and into the birth canal (vagina), except for the head, which the abortionist purposely keeps lodged just inside the cervix (the opening to the womb).

This is who you sick bastards are.Worse than the Nazi’s.
