|| By FITSNEWS || Earlier today we wrote on a shocking takeaway from last month’s government jobs report – namely that foreign-born workers gained 204,000 positions while native-born workers lost nearly 700,000 jobs. Since the beginning of the recession, the foreign-born count stands at plus 2.1 million – a number that’s nearly three times the 790,000 increase among U.S.-born workers.
Well guess what … there’s more.
According to a report released earlier this year from the uber-liberal Brookings Institution, there’s additional historical context for these numbers.
From 1990-2013, “US-born men without a high school degree have seen a dramatic reduction in their employment rate – from 72 to 58 percent,” the report found. Not only that, “the fall was also dramatic for the share working full-time and year-round, sliding from 54 to 42 percent” over the same time period.
Ready for the flip side of that coin?
“In sharp contrast, the employment rate of immigrant men without a high school degree rose from 80 to 87 percent, and the share working full-time and year-round rose from 57 to 66 percent,” the report found.
Wow …
So to recap (ahem, policy makers): Government-run Education + Open Borders = Massive Jobs Fail.
Now does anyone think billionaire businessman Donald Trump – who has made comprehensive immigration reform a centerpiece of his campaign – can work with those numbers? We do … not unlike the numbers previously generated by other liberal think tanks.
Here’s the thing: As non-fire breathers on immigration, we’ve been quick to point out that opening the borders to some degree can be beneficial to the economy (and that all of us, on some level, are immigrants). We’ve also pointed out there were a lot of jobs U.S.-born Americans simply refused to do.
But let’s not forget government’s ongoing incentivizing of dependency among able-bodied U.S. workers … as it incentivizes illegal immigration.

It won’t matter if the contractor paid the taxes or not. If they did, you will have to find them and prove that they did in order to receive credit for taxes they paid. The IRS will assume that the contractor/employees paid none of their taxes. The end result of such a reclassification is usually more than a business can bear and you can expect absolutely no mercy!

Can’t you look a little deeper into the numbers. There is a big difference in the quality of employees who did not have a HS diploma 25 years ago than now. There were a lot of quality older men in 1990 who did not have the same opportunities as men today. You have to be near the bottom of the barrel today if you are under fifty and don’t have a HS diploma.
Also the older you are the less likely you are to have a HS diploma. Many of them are not employed because they are retired.
The numbers are also skewed because there is half as many HS dropouts as 25 years ago. So the unemployment rate has doubled on half the number of people represents level unemployment for the entire population.
Finally, a lot quality immigrants didn’t not have our opportunity for a diploma as we do, but make good workers, unlike native dropouts.
