SENATOR ALSO COMPARES TRUMP SUPPORTERS TO BIRTHERS …
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham likes to talk tough … especially when it involves other people’s blood and money.
Anyway Graham – whose presidential campaign is currently drawing 0.3 percent nationally (and less than five percent in his home state) – is planning to file his paperwork to participate in South Carolina’s “First in the South” presidential primary next week.
Much to the chagrin of … well, everybody in the Palmetto State.
In anticipation of his filing, Graham appeared on CNN this week to talk trash about the current GOP frontrunner – billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump. According to Graham, Trump is a “complete idiot” who is leading in the polls due to the “dark side of politics.”
“Come to South Carolina and I’ll beat his brains out,” Graham said of Trump. “I know my state. This is a silly season in politics.”
Wait … what?
“Beat his brains out?”
Hold up: Isn’t it against the law to threaten someone with physical violence on the basis of their political beliefs?
Why yes … yes it is. In fact according to S.C. Code Section 16-17-560 it can land you in jail for two years …
It is unlawful for a person to assault or intimidate a citizen, discharge a citizen from employment or occupation, or eject a citizen from a rented house, land, or other property because of political opinions or the exercise of political rights and privileges guaranteed to every citizen by the Constitution and laws of the United States or by the Constitution and laws of this State.
A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
In fact (sarcasm alert) we’re sure S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson will get right on that. You know, since he’s got some time on his hands.
“He is shallow, he is ill-prepared to be commander-in-chief, he doesn’t know what he is talking about in terms of how our laws work, he says the worst things possible about immigrants and women, and he’s a complete idiot when it comes to Mideast policy,” Graham added. “So I think over time, common sense will prevail.”
Wait … Graham is calling somebody else’s foreign policy idiotic?
Graham also said Trump’s supporters are crazy – the sort of people who believe U.S. president Barack Obama is a “Muslim born in Kenya.”
