ARREST MADE IN MIDLANDS CASE …
|| By FITSNEWS || Two weeks ago this website ran an exclusive story on a Kershaw County, S.C. car crash which led authorities to take a closer look at allegations of criminal sexual misconduct involving an adult woman and multiple minor children.
Well, late last week there was an arrest in the case. According to Richland County, S.C. court records, 36-year-old Jennifer Trakas of Elgin, S.C. was arrested on May 1 and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The documents accompanying Trakas’ arrest – which reference the car crash as a jumping off point for the investigation – are revealing.
For example, an investigator reports that Trakas acknowledged renting a hotel room in early April and getting “drunk” with several young males – including three as-yet-unnamed minor victims. According to the report, Trakas admitted kissing a boy she believed to be seventeen years old (South Carolina’s age of consent is sixteen) and also acknowledged smoking marijuana and drinking beer with the young males. All this while two of her own children were present …
That was six days before the car crash – which occurred on Sessions Road in Kershaw County.
So … what happened there?
According to the investigative report, Trakas acknowledged to a Richland County detective having “wrecked her van while driving two ‘white boys’ and three ‘black boys.'”
“She admitted that she had picked one or all of them up from a ‘Glow party,’ and that when they stopped at a convenience store, two of the boys stole some ice so she was driving fast to get away from the store when she wrecked the car,” the report stated.
As we noted in our original report, the car in which Trakas and the boys were traveling is said to have struck a utility pole – “flipping the vehicle three times.” In fact at least one of the minor children involved in the crash posted images of its aftermath on social media.
“We hit a light pole and flipped 3 times,” the child stated in a social media post accompanying a picture of the crash.
“(Trakas) and the minor boys fled the scene of the accident with the exception of two males who reported the incident to law enforcement,” court documents state.
It’s not yet clear whether any charges will be filed related to that incident.
FITS reached out to Trakas for a comment but didn’t immediately receive a response …
Obviously there are two (or more) sides to every story and she’s innocent until proven guilty … but it’s certainly not looking good for her at the moment.
