LAW WOULD REQUIRE PRO-LIFE GROUPS TO OFFER ABORTION COVERAGE
|| By FITSNEWS || Pro-life groups in Washington, D.C. plan to practice civil disobedience in response to a law they say imposes upon their religious freedoms.
Multiple groups including the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, Americans United for Life, March for Life, Concerned Women for America, the Susan B. Anthony List and the Family Research Council issued a statement in response to an
“Despite the enactment of this unjust law, we will continue to hire employees who share our commitment to the dignity of every member of the human family,” the groups said in a statement.
The groups are protesting the so-called Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Act, which bans “discrimination by an employer, employment agency, or labor organization, based on an individual’s or dependent’s reproductive health decisions.”
In other words it would force these pro-life groups to subsidize abortions …
This website is pro-life – and supportive of the right of private businesses to deny coverage for abortions. Accordingly, we support these groups in practicing civil disobedience of what we agree is an “unjust law.”
And no … this isn’t the first time we’ve embraced civil disobedience, either.
