MORE TROUBLE FOR FRANK MARTIN’S PROGRAM …

|| By FITSNEWS || Three players have left the University of South Carolina men’s basketball program, the school announced this week.

Sophomore forwards Reggie Theus Jr. and Demetrius Henry and freshman guard/forward Shamiek Sheppard will not be with the Gamecocks for the 2015-16 season, according to fourth-year head coach Frank Martin.

Of the three, Henry contributed the most to the Gamecocks’ efforts – appearing in fifty-five games (including forty-eight starts). He averaged 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, posting eight double-figure scoring games and one double-double.

Martin singled out Theus – who appeared in twenty-four games during his USC career – as “a fine young man who has represented our team and program in the best way possible ever since he stepped on campus.”

No such praise was offered to Henry and Sheppard – who were suspended by Martin in late February for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Martin has posted a 45-54 mark in three seasons at South Carolina – including an abysmal 15-39 record in Southeastern Conference play. That’s a stark contrast to his career at Kansas State – where he posted a 117-54 record over five seasons (including four NCAA tournament appearances).

South Carolina hasn’t appeared in the NCAA tournament since 2004 – and hasn’t won a game in the “Big Dance” since 1974.

That’s right … forty-one years ago.

While the men’s program struggles to find its footing, the Gamecock women’s program has been on fire – reaching its first ever Final Four and winning a school-record 34 games last season under head coach Dawn Staley.

Two out off three are dirt bags and that some how spells “…MORE TROUBLE FOR FRANK MARTIN’S PROGRAM …”. None of the three are starter quality and only one of the three has any real passing time and a whole court points a games to show for it.

Exactly – two clowns who were a cancer to the team and a guy who was signed for his name. Guess he didn’t play enough driveway b-ball with his dad in high school.

lulz..I’m sure Calipari would come from an 8 time NC winning college to go coach for Cocks…in Columbia. I bet he’s just waiting for the phone to ring!

Maybe he’ll get blown out when he coaches pro for a few years and you can hire him on the down side of his career.

But hell, why not Krzyzewski? I mean he only has 5 NC’s (by himself). I bet he’s waiting by the phone, too!
You cocks kill me.

Sarcasm is always a tough thing for tater boys to understand. But Crooner’s comment is almost as funny as you clowns thinking your retarded cheerleader football coach was a candidate for the Florida job. Now THAT was funny.

Hell ,Florida can have him. I don’t care one way or the other about him. Clemson got him cheap. Let him go.

But I have no idea what this has to do with your shitty basketball program.

Gamecocks with dicks on their mind. Not a surprise.

You are so right! USC built that new facility and they can’t even fill it. Maybe they can hire one of their recent grads!

If Martin fails, which looks like it’ll happen, what coach in his right mind would want to come here? You’re looking at 4 years minimum to turn around if everything goes perfect. Like the football program, it’s where coaches go to die.

I would like to make fun of the horrific state of USCe’s basketball program.

As a Clemson fan and graduate, I cannot do that.

frank martin is a joke. if he was a student, with his idiotic antics and emotional meltdowns he would have been kicked out of long ago—if he was a student much less the coach and “example” to young adults. besides the fact that he is less emotionally mature than most of his players, he has GARBAGE for results. he’s won 2 games at carolina. iowa state last year and they lost first round ncaa and kentucky year before. you can tell how stupid he is by just watching hs idiotic spasms and wild facial contortions. this man is an ovegrown temper tantrum and he has ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER HIS OWN MIND. total disgrace. if he had a clue about human naturehe would recruit kids as brain-dead as himself— thats the onlyway his style will ever work. he should try donkey basketball after they fire his ass. i’m not hoping he freaks out in the middle of a game and ends his own career, but i will be highly amused when it happens, and it will be god’s will anyway.

To define this as “trouble” is a gross overstatement. If you had been following this program AT ALL, you would have known these three very minor contributors would be gone. Heck, they signed more players than they had roster positions. Hello.

Addition by subtraction with losing those three guys. It will free up additional scholarships for Martin to better utilize.
