BUT WILL IT BOOST REALITY TV RATINGS?
In fact the 52-year-old Ravenel is having a full-blown meltdown on his always entertaining Facebook page, posting “evidence” which would indicate Dennis – his “baby momma” and co-star on the Bravo TV reality television show Southern Charm – has been cheating on him with another man.
“While it hurts it’s finally healthy progress to know the truth,” Ravenel wrote, accompanying his comments with a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent by Dennis to a friend.
In the text message, Dennis declares her love for the mysterious man, known as Tanner (or “Tan Tan”).
“The joke of it is that she said she was going to propose to me today,” Ravenel wrote.
Wait … what?
“I’m great in business but my personal life sucks!” Ravenel continued. “What an idiot I am. Not only that but she’s telling everyone that physically assault her which is not only hurtful but blatantly false. My lawyer is right. When I see her I should run. Right now I don’t know how it could be worse unless we lost our health. How did I let her take my heart. It was cold and on a perch. Now it’s completely vanished with not even an attempt for explanation.”
Take a look …

“This is completely ridiculous,” she wrote, telling Ravenel to “delete this post please – it’s inappropriate and misconstrued.”
Dennis may get her wish. After all Ravenel spouts – and then retracts – social media messages like a broken metronome. In fact his chronic inconsistency is one of the reasons his 2014 bid for the U.S. Senate – which began with high hopes – flamed out so spectacularly.
“Ravenel took a potentially viable independent candidacy and through the sheer, unrelenting force of his boundless insanity – turned it into a laughingstock,” we wrote recently.
Of course he did have some “help.”
Many believe Ravenel and Dennis’ antics are designed to boost ratings for the show, but we know them both better than that. And based on everything we’ve seen, they really are this crazy.
Anyway … for those of you keeping score at home, this week’s installment of Southern Charm drew 910,000 viewers – up from last week’s 870,000 but down from its first season peak of 1.2 million.
UPDATE: Well, well … Ravenel has removed his post (and Dennis’ text message) from his Facebook page.
