|| By FITSNEWS || Desperate to get his political career back on track, U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford has re-hired one of his longest-serving, most loyal political staffers.
The former “Luv Gov” – whose national ambitions were derailed by a sex scandal in 2009 – pulled off a remarkable political comeback in 2013. But since then he’s committed several major blunders – making it much more likely that he will face a credible electoral challenge in 2016.
In an effort to right his ship, Sanford has chosen longtime advisor Scott English to be his new chief of staff in Washington, D.C.
English has been with Sanford on-and-off for decades – dating back to his first turn in Congress in the late 1990s. English also occupied top policy posts during Sanford’s two terms as governor of South Carolina from 2003-11.
Known as “the Martyr” for his slavish devotion to the scandal scarred politician, English has an undeniably keen policy mind – but we’re not sure what he will bring to the table in terms of political acumen.
Also good staff has never been Mark Sanford’s problem … Mark Sanford has always been Mark Sanford’s problem.
Which reminds us … English is Sanford’s third chief of staff in the last seven months, a pretty high rate of turnover if you ask us. He replaces liberal environmentalist Mark McIntosh – who lasted just six months in the role.

Sanford was the MOST HATED person in Congress to work for his first time around. I know people who worked for him in DC, who campaigned viciously against him when he ran for Gov. As a fellow Republican I did not understand. But the Sanfords are VERY selfish, self-centered, deceitful, entitled and using people…
They care about themselves, and seem to HATE anyone else for even having an idea that is not promoting them.
Sanford has fooled a lot people because he is a good actor. Encounter him out of character, and you’ll want to slap the $#!t out of him for his arrogance and condescension…A lot more of an @$$hole than FITS…

Ain’t it amazing that these pro-business free market disciples just keep sucking off the public teet? Mark Sanford hasn’t worked in the private sector in 20 years and Scott English has NEVER held a job outside government… moreover he was appointed to every position he held.
