“ERUPT THEM AROUND THE GLOBE” ISLAMIC MILITANT URGES

Take the latest offering from the caliph of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) – Ibrahim (a.k.a. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi), a guy who was detained and inexplicably released from U.S. custody in 2009.
According to a new ISIS audio message, Ibrahim wants his followers to erupt “volcanoes of jihad” across the globe.
“O soldiers of the Islamic State, continue to harvest the soldiers,” Ibrahim said in the recording. “Erupt volcanoes of jihad everywhere. Light the Earth with fire.”
Yeah … THAT is how you talk trash. Certainly Ibrahim’s language is infinitely more compelling than U.S. president Barack Obama‘s recent reference to America’s latest bombing campaign as a “long-term project.”
Because that sounds a lot like a middle school paper mâché volcano. One erupting vinegar, Palmolive and baking soda as opposed to, you know, earth-covering fire.
Speaking of America’s ongoing campaign, Ibrahim says this latest round of thoroughly unjustified interventionism isn’t working.
“America and its allies are terrified, weak, and powerless,” he stated.
Eh … we’d go with “overextended, misguided, and broke” but that’s just us.
The irony? American politicians were not-so-secretly supporting Ibrahim’s crew as recently as last year. But then the war gods demanded a new bogeyman – one sufficient to justify the perpetual warmongering that keeps our nation’s economy going (well, one percent of it, anyway) …
So now we have the next thirty-year war our leaders asked for … no, begged for.
In other words, if and when the “volcanoes of jihad” erupt … America will have no one to blame but its own short-sighted leaders. Again.
Seriously … thirteen years, $6 trillion and 7,000 U.S. lives ago, our nation embarked on a “War on Terror.” Only to learn at its conclusion (or what we thought was its conclusion) that our country was less safe than at any other time in its history.
UPDATE: And if the volcano doesn’t come to America, America will come to the volcano …
