“A CLOUDY DAY IN KLEPTOPOLIS …”
It’s so obvious at this point we’re not sure why they’re still do polls on it … but in case you missed the news flash, Obamacare is Kryptonite to candidates seeking federal office.
According to a new Fox News poll, Independent voters are likely to back opponents of U.S. President Barack Obama’s socialized medicine monstrosity by a whopping 54-29 percent spread. The same poll found general election voters backing anti-Obamacare candidates by a 53-39 percent spread.
Oh, and independents care about a candidate’s position on this issue a great deal – with 72 percent of them saying it will be an “important factor” in casting their ballots.
That’s the good news …
The bad news? “Republicans” are likely to benefit electorally from this pervasive disdain of socialized medicine – and as we’ve seen time and again the Grand Old Party is no better than Democrats when it comes to controlling spending or keeping taxes low.
Or for that matter, stopping Obamacare …
“Different cheeks, same ass,” our founding editor likes to say.
Fox surveyed 1,012 registered voters from April 13-15. The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points.
Cue the Spin Doctors. No, really … Spin Doctors …

This fight is over. Even if GOP wins both Houses and they were to pass bill to overturn ACA, Obama would veto and no way to get 2/3 vote to overturn veto. And, if Clinton wins in 2016, the same scenario would exist. Time to quit trying to eliminate it and instead get down to repairing it.
Repairing it? You mean, Congress should do its job and, at the very least, improve what it can improve for the sake of helping the general population, rather than winning some petty partisan battle?
Yea, I know. Crazy thought, right?
A liberal doing something tooooo help the general population? Pleeeeze.Stealing personal wealth, enslaving the poor into generational poverty and perversion while aborting as many children as possible is their way of helping the general population.
You didn’t drink milk at school when you were a kid – did you?
Fight not over. The American people are going toooo revolt over Obamacare. It will not work. Can’t repair something that can’t be fixed.
When the whole health care system collapses Obamacare will be finished-just like the democrat party. When that happens the party will be left with pot smoking, abortion loving, penis craving OWS filthy wack jobs ONLY!!
The American people will never forgive the democrat party for what they did to their health insurance.
The American people are going toooo revolt over Obamacare.
Cool story bro.
It will not work. Can’t repair something that can’t be fixed.
It already is working to a great degree, it simply needs tweaking, like most programs and legislation, including Social Security and Medicare.
38 delays and 6.5 million lost their health insurance. They figure only about 1.5 million new enrollees If the employer mandate was not delayed they figured up toooo 90,000,000 would lose their insurance.Rate are going up 25% plus in October.Medicaid rolls will bankrupt states.
Obama perpetrated a fraud on the American people toooo transfer wealth.
The voters are going toooo ‘tweak’ the senate this fall.
6.5 million didn’t lose healthcare – they had their plans replaced and amended. It’s like when you move your Comcast account to a new address and upgrade – you get a new account number. Same great service, maybe a little extra softcore, and a slightly higher monthly bill.
Rightttttttttttttttttttt, next you will tell me that if I like my current plan, I can keep it.
So long is it complies with the law. Sort of like with the DMV and your car insurance.
So what you are saying is that my current plan, which I was told I could keep if I wanted, was made noncompliant by legislation that I was told would allow me to keep my current plan, which no one knew what was in the legislation, until it was passed, at which time, my current plan, which I was told by the President, I could keep, must now comply with a law that he signed which makes my current plan noncompliant? Right? GTFO
Wrong answer. I have a 16 year old auto that I do not carry full coverage on, I have choice. AT my age my wife and I don’t need birth control, maternity coverage, infant care just to name a few so you can take your compliance and do with it what ever you want. It infringes on my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
That’s right. Let’s leave the system the way it was so we can continue to pay for the emergency room visits for all of the uninsured . . . that makes sense.
Have the emergency room visits for the uninsured gone away? We still have almost the same number of uninsured now as we did before Obamacare, the net gain hasn’t been that good.
Gallup. The polling firm found that the percentage of adults lacking health insurance—the uninsured rate— fell from 18% right before Obamacare went into effect last year to 15.6% so far this year.
Rand. The nonprofit research group estimates there was a net gain of 9.3 million people having health insurance from September 2013 to mid-March 2014.
The Urban Institute. This think tank has conducted polls showing the number of nonelderly adults lacking health insurance shrank by 5.4 million from September 2013 to mid March 2014.
Have the Emergency Room closed to the uninsured?
How many of the percentages are new to Medicaid?
Moreover, imagine a world in which on March 20, 2010 the CBO had provided an accurate projection of exactly how the law actually would play out:
12.5% fewer uninsured by 2014 rather than 37.3%
millions with cancelled coverage, of which 1 million remain uninsured
a $2 trillion increase in the federal debt in its first two decades rather than a deficit reduction
far higher premium increases in the non-group, small group and large group markets than originally estimated
Nearly $7,000 in added taxes/fees over a decade even for families in the lowest 20% of household income
You get the idea. Armed with accurate information about its actual effects, what member of Congress would have voted for this lemon law?
You sure like toooo tell lies.
So is Obama counting that 6.5 million in his numbers, if so he really missed his projection and the net gain isn’t good. If he’s not counting them then 6.5 million did lose their plan. You can’t have it both ways.
The 6.5 didn’t end up unisured. THey just got new plans. Numbers suck unless they say what you want. As for birthcontrol for old people, you never know – and it compliments Viagra.
Tell me, how do you know that all 6.5 got new plans and some are not left without insurance. You are right numbers suck because figures don’t lie but liars figure.
So is Obama counting that 6.5 million in his numbers, if so he really
missed his projection and the net gain isn’t good. If he’s not counting
them then 6.5 million did lose their plan. You can’t have it both
Repair it? Really? That feels like taking a button to the launder and asking him to sew a shirt on it. Good luck. Tough to make chicken soup outa chicken S&%t.
“According to a Fox News poll…” And Fox News and Reason are the two polls that consistently show the most opposition towards Obamacare. Of course, those two are on a perpetual PR campaign against Obamacare, and while Reason uses a bit more, well, reason in its arguments, Fox News is filled to the brim with misinformation that sticks to its aging viewers long before it is debunked by, well, everyone else.
The ACA is here to stay and even the Republicans realize that. By ending the ACA they fuck over millions, and that’s just today. They won’t have the actual power to do this until 2017, and that’s a maybe, but even then, how many more people will be covered? How many more people will they have to throw off just to end reform they staunchly opposed but didn’t fail like they predicted?
Nope, if Republicans take over in 2017, they’ll pass a few meaningless changes and claim that they “fixed” it and therefore deserve all the credit (for just the positive parts) for legislation they hated with every fiber of their being just a short time before.
Have fun believing whatever you want in the meantime, but the ACA will stay.
Your post is a LIE(not that it is unusual for you toooo post falsehoods).Fox News polling has always been more favorable toooo this muslim pResident.
Much more favorable than say CBS/New York Times.Go figure. My guess is they skew the sample so they are not labled as being racist.
Are you related to Grand Tango? Sure sounds like the same brand of bullshit.
Tango is brilliant and thoughtful.Thank you for the compliment.
Goddamn I hate the Spin Doctors.
You should explain the real reason why rich people don’t want poor people to have health care: to keep them in a permanent serf-like underclass.
Someone should relay this data over to DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, she put out some serious bullshit on Meet the Press this past Sunday about how Obamacare was going to be good for DNC candidates.
We’ll know the stupid F*#k!+g libs get it…when they start trying to blame Bush for Obamacare…
And believe me, they are that F*+;king ignorant….and most of the Dumb@$$#$ in their party will believe its Bush’s fault….
