The Rand Paul Show Comes To SC

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) is bringing his 2016 presidential campaign to South Carolina this weekend – raising money for the S.C. Republican Party (SCGOP) and holding several meetings across the state with various political activists.

If these meetings go according to plan (i.e. like Paul’s recent meetings with activists in Iowa), he will spend a disproportionate amount of his time pandering to social conservatives on issues like gay marriage and the ongoing prosecution of America’s failed “war on drugs.”

Which is disappointing …

Oh … and did we mention the purpose of his trip? Raising money for a flat broke “Republican” party that’s completely bankrupt ideologically. Seriously, just this week S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley – once a darling of the “Tea Party” movement – approved a $26 million expenditure for U.S. President Barack Obama’s signature education initiative, the expansion of failed government-run early childhood education.

In fact one GOP Senator, Wes Hayes (RINO-York), even threatened to filibuster passage of the state budget if it contained a provision allowing parents of disabled children to receive market-based academic tax credits.

Amazing, isn’t it?

Yet these are the “Republicans” which the SCGOP borrows money to support …

Why is Paul caving to these sanctimonious moralizers and useless party hacks? Because he wants to be president, that’s why … and because South Carolina (for reasons surpassing understanding) has been tapped as an early voting state which wields tremendous sway over the presidential nominating process.

Well … until last year.

In spite of all this, Rand Paul may still be – in the words of one of his prominent South Carolina supporters – “the only thing resembling a real option” in 2016 for those of us who are true limited government supporters. Maybe that’s the case, but in our humblest of estimations Paul needs to seriously stop for a moment and consider whether going the Rick Santorum/ Mike Huckabee route is really worth the votes he will lose on the other end of the spectrum.

Because there are always other options …

W promoted the “enforcer of harmony” out of South Carolina, all the way to Canada, and what was left has been scrambling and squabbling ever since, even when he came back.

Perry, Newt, Santorum…neither would have done any worse than the FITS Liberal-Tarians who have been put forth…They LOST!!!!…And look where we are now…

The Social Conservatives stayed home in 2012, whereas the Race-Hating Bigots on the left voted in record numbers…

The Left is proud of its most disgusting and bitter base. They even Cheated for Obama, while FITS was calling Voter ID, minority Suppression…We have dolts like FITS attacking the people who BUILT this country, while his kind allows the Gimme-Hand-out lazy-@$$#$ to break the treasury…

I guess FITS, and the ignorant Mother-F*#ck#$ who suck him off, think Hate-filled Obama voters should be able to vote 6 times, or it’s not fair…
Hey FITS, you Dumb@$$, look where you are taking us…

FYI, SC didn’t get “taped as an early voting state” by anybody…. We’re the only state were the state govt has no control over “when” state parties hold presidential nomination contests… which means we can hold it whenever we want…which is why we’ve always been able to jump ahead of anybody we want to jump ahead of. Delegate penalties be damned.

There is growing evidence that the future of the Republcian Party depends heavily on their acceptance of constitutional libertarian principles. Yes, Rand Paul is pandering to the morally corrupt SCGOP. But, he saw and lived through the experience of his father. Ron Paul would never pander, never compromise his Libertarian principles. And thus, he was left in the backwaters of DC, never given a powerful committee position, never given the support of the RNC for anything. At the Tampa Convention the establishement Republicans shut Ron Paul out. Rand Paul wants to be able to move the country in the direction of limited goverment, individual and economic freedom. He wants to accomplish this by becoming President. To reach this end, he may have to swallow hard and pander to the SCGOP.
