The National Young Minority Girls Academy is designed to serve as a strong voice to support the development, enhancement, and enrichment of young girls in grades four (4) through seven (7). The Academy is hosting a Summer Leadership Non-residential Institute on June 22, 2013 through June 28, 2013 on the campus of Allen University, 1500 Harden Street, Columbia, SC. The Summer Leadership Institute is designed to provide an opportunity for young middle school girls to improve, enhance, and strengthen their emerging leadership, social, and academic knowledge and skills and explore economic, health, and culture awareness. They will engage in a plethora of activities that require them to think more independently, discover their academic interest, interact with other students, and make personal contributions to new thoughts and actions in their daily life. The cost for the program is $280.00 and includes the Saturday Youth Conference, snacks, lunch, and program materials. Because space is limited, interested parents should apply early with their application fee of $25.00.
