Wait … Chemical Ali is dead.
He was hanged in January 2010 for war crimes. So who is the “Ali” working for South Carolina first congressional district candidate Curtis Bostic? Ali Lohan? Nope … according to The Patch, Bostic’s campaign has some sort of working relationship with an individual by the name of Ali Akbar (not to be confused with Admiral Ackbar).
Ackbar … sorry, Ackbar (damnit) … sorry AKBAR (there we go) reportedly runs the website TrustCurtis.com, which consists of the following splash page …

What’s curious about this page? Several things. First, it claims to have been “Paid For By The Committee To Elect Curtis Bostic” (Bostic’s official congressional campaign organization). In fact it solicits donations to said entity – which is a big no-no for unaffiliated sites.
The problem? According to The Patch, Bostic’s campaign claims the site is “not authorized” and the work of an “overzealous volunteer.”
Which may or may not be the truth … (and guessing it’s not considering Akbar’s claims to have “a contract” to promote Bostic).
Why are they saying that? Because Akbar has a less-than-reputable past, including a 2006 conviction for credit card theft and fraud in Texas. It’s fitting, then, that Akbar got into a spirited “Twitter battle” this week with South Carolina’s own resident less-than-reputable consultant – Wes Donehue.

Donehue’s firm is advising the campaign of former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford – who is currently battling Bostic in a GOP runoff for the first district nod. The problem for Bostic? Either his campaign has lied about its working relationship with a shady hired gun or it has a serious federal campaign “coordination” issue. No word yet which bullet they plan on biting, but if it were up to us we’d chomp on the first one.
UPDATE: Looks like Bostic’s campaign has decided to take our advice and bite the first bullet. According to an updated story from The Patch, Bostic’s campaign is now saying the decision to hire Akbar was made by “volunteer staffer” Kerry Wood – an Upstate political consultant. From the story …
Wood told Patch that he has been working for the Bostic campaign as a volunteer since February and that he contacted Akbar last Thursday. Wood said that Bostic offered to pay him, but he declined. In turn, Wood offered to pay Akbar, but, Wood said, Akbar declined to be paid until after the race and his effectiveness could be measured.
Wait … political consultants declining to take money? Hmmmm …

Hasn’t Curtis had many business dealings outside of the U.S.? You the know the human trafficking/adoption deals? Maybe this is how he is tied to Ackbar?

Ali Akbar is from Fossil Creek in Fort Worth, TX. Can’t trust anyone from Fossil Creek. (Anyone else from DFW can attest).

Do I need to remind you that Wes was one of the people involved in phoneyfred.com and fired from the first Romney campaign. Or should we just go back to Gov. Haley campaign where we find Wes telling people that Gov. Haley had an affair. I mean really Pot meat kettle.
