In Case You Missed Myrtle Manor

We have yet to watch Myrtle Manor, the TLC reality show which revolves around life in a South Carolina trailer park.

We’ll get around to it eventually, but for those of you unfamiliar with the Palmetto State it’s not like there’s any shortage of broke, borderline illiterate trailer trash. Hell, nearly one in five South Carolinians lives in a mobile home (the highest percentage in the nation) and as we’ve noted ad nauseam our government-run K-12 education system is the worst in the nation.

But hey, let’s glamorize all that so the rest of the country can laugh at us …

Anyway, in case you missed it, here’s the first episode of the show …

(Click to play)

According to Nielsen, 1.3 million people watched the Myrtle Manor March 3 premiere. Only 925,000 watched the show’s second episode on March 10, although 1.2 million tuned in for its third episode on Sunday.

If you want to join these throngs in watching new episodes of Myrtle Manor, the show airs Sunday at 10:00 p.m. EDT on TLC.

Well, you do need to give the creators and producers credit. They portray SC in the way that everyone outside the State views SC… If your going to paint a picture, paint a true picture. Job well done from my perspective.

It’s a great parody and satire on life at “The Beach”. I can’t wait for The Real Wives of Grande Dunes” , The “Cougars of Conway” and “Hardcore Beach Wear” to air.

Sic Willie, who claims to have never seen the show yet provides information on its content, has been duped, again. Most, if not all, “reality” shows are scripted. So you are seeing what the writers and producers want you to see.

While you are at it, Sic Willie, roll out your proof that all members of the cast are native to SC and received their education in SC public schools.

That’s easy. If they were educated in SC public schools, they are too stupid to leave SC, thus, native. If they were educated outside SC public schools, they are either smart enough to leave the state (for natives), or smart enough to not move into it (for non-natives). Clearly the people on the show must be natives educated in SC public schools. You can’t refute sound logic like that.

1) Most of the renters are from up North, or not from SC. The Boss of the park is from SC.

2) The people in SC (like FITS) who try to bash the show as an embarrassment, likely means they see themselves in the characters… and are ashamed (rightly so)….

3) If you act like a Trailer Park Renter, even in Argentina, or as the Gov.’s PR guy, why do you think you are better than these people???

I’m distantly related to Mr. Patrick and Mrs. Johnson. I know Taylor and Shelly. Everybody knows it was cast, the main cast does not live in those trailers, which were brought in and set up on a lot behind the main park. The show is harmlessly mindless entertainment. Kinda fun, often really funny. It’s also good for business for Myrtle Beach. And it’s a hit.

yeah, everything’s just a little too unbelievable, like the old lady going topless in the pool, or the security guard’s cluelessness. Doesn’t mean I didn’t laugh and enjoy the show just like any other scripted comedy or drama.

Just want we need more people thinking people from SC marry their cousins. This is the worst possible example of SC we could put forward.
