The U.S unemployment rate held at 9.6 percent in September, although the economy shed 95,000 jobs – mostly due to cuts in the public sector. The private sector actually added 64,000 positions, although that anemic level of growth is nowhere near sufficient to fuel anything resembling a ‘”recovery.”
