Sources close to state representative Stewart Jones tell FITSNews he intends to endorse candidate Mark Burns ahead of the Republican primary run-off election in the third congressional district.

Jones accrued the third most votes in the seven-candidate field (18.70%), and is lending his support to Burns directly before Burns’ debate with his run-off opponent, S.C. Air National Guard (SCANG) lieutenant colonel/ nurse practitioner Sheri Biggs.

Burns scored 4.34% more of the vote than Biggs in the June 11, 2024, partisan primary, and has been endorsed by former president Donald Trump.

Biggs received the endorsement of S.C. governor Henry McMaster – who touted Biggs’ “faith, military service, and commitment to work with President Trump on the most pressing issues facing the nation.”

Biggs and Burns will debate tonight (June 18, 2024) at 7:00 p.m. on FOX Carolina. According to the broadcaster viewers “can watch the live debate on air and in the FOX Carolina news and streaming apps for Roku, AppleTV and FireTV.
