On the political front, it was a huge week for us as South Carolina held its partisan primary elections – races which were short on turnout but long on significance (and chock full of national narratives interweaving with local politics).
The biggest development we covered? The stunning defeat of Democratic senator Dick Harpootlian – whose upset at the hands of state representative Russell Ott sent shock waves through the true crime world given the fame he amassed as the lead defense attorney for convicted killer Alex Murdaugh.
Harpootlian’s loss wasn’t the only big news to emerge from this week’s voting, though … as Dylan Nolan and I addressed extensively in a lengthy election recap.

I don’t think anyone ever reads these comment but I’m gonna try again. I open the website, I click on a story, you ask me to log in. I do so and start reading the story about Harpootlian, in the story you have a link that will tell me a little about Russell Ott, I click on it then try to go back to the original story. You want me to login again ! And on and on and on. Can’t you fix that?
