For the second week in a row, the story of Mica Miller – the beautiful pastor’s wife from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina whose suspicious death shocked the nation – is dominating headlines.
Our media outlet was the first to report on this tragedy, and we have continued to dig deep into this saga as official reports (here and here) collide with accounts of Miller’s allegedly abusive marriage (here and here).
Where will this story go next? Who knows …
As for our investigation, research director Jenn Wood and reporter Andy Fancher – who attended Miller’s seaside memorial service earlier this week – will be retracing what police insist was her final trip from Myrtle Beach, S.C. to the tranquil Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. There, Miller’s body was found in a pond next to the scenic blackwater river – the victim of a gunshot wound determined to have been self-inflicted.
Stay tuned for much more on this story as each day brings with it new revelations … and new questions.

In other news this week, I detailed the depressing state of the judicial reform debate in South Carolina. For years, this media outlet has been pushing state lawmakers to fix the badly broken, inherently corrupt method they use to choose judges in the Palmetto State.
They have abjectly refused to do so … and this week, their contempt for the people perpetually endangered and victimized by their self-serving system reached a new level.
When will South Carolina’s elected officials take a stand for public safety? For victims? For the integrity of our court system?
Clearly not this year …
Count on our media outlet to continue leading the charge for real reform – holding everyone involved in this shady process accountable for their actions (and inaction).

Yet they never tested her hands for gun residue. They didnt do a lot of stuff then allowed her body to be cremated. And what about the fact that his truck was seen leaving Charlotte in enough time to get to NC and even then when his truck was seen going into Charlotte you cant see who was in there due to dark tinted windows. Still so much its hard to believe. Even if she did do it on her own accord he is as guilty as if he did pull the trigger. Bless her soul. What a life she lived on her short time on earth.
