Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting In Florence SC

FITSNewsA suspect is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Florence, South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
According to multiple law enforcement sources, an officer of the city of Florence, S.C. police department was fired upon by a yet-to-be-identified black male in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn in Florence at around 12:30 p.m. EDT.
The officer – a white male – returned fire and mortally wounded the suspect. The officer was unharmed in the exchange of gunfire, and aside from the suspect no other injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.
As for the shooter?
“Suspect deceased,” one law enforcement source told us shortly before 5:00 p.m. EDT.
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene in response to 911 calls of an armed assailant. When police arrived, the suspect allegedly pulled his weapon and opened fire – forcing one of the officers to respond with deadly force.
