Love is in the air in Laurens County, S.C., where newly-elected sheriff Don Reynolds is preparing to tie the knot with the former head of governor Nikki Haley’s security detail.
Reynolds’ fiancée is Shannon Boling – who our longtime readers may remember as Shannon Branham, the woman at the heart of the 2011 “Sex, Lies and Troopers” scandal.

Wow. Well-played, sheriff. Well-played.
Reynolds was elected to his new post last November. Months earlier, he won a contentious primary against Ricky Chastain, the infamous “Sexting Sheriff” of Laurens County. This website covered Chastain’s scandals extensively, but we also reported on Reynolds’ issues during the campaign.
Our view? First of all, the new sheriff is certainly to be congratulated on his engagement, with best wishes extended to his lovely bride-to-be.
Can their love survive the scrutiny of his new position as sheriff of one of South Carolina’s most notoriously corrupt counties? We shall see …
