PRESUMPTIVE GOP NOMINEE SLAMS SOUTH CAROLINA SENATOR OVER GENERAL ELECTION DISS

Liberal U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham told reporters this week that he would not be supporting presumptive “Republican” nominee Donald Trump during the 2016 general election.

“I don’t think he’s a reliable Republican conservative,” Graham said. “I don’t believe that Donald Trump has the temperament and judgment to be commander in chief.  I think Donald Trump is going to places where very few people have gone and I’m not going with him.”

Hold up: The most aggressive pro-amnesty “Republican” in Washington, D.C. and the only GOP member of the United States Congress who embraced Barack Obama‘s “cap and trade” energy tax hike doesn’t think Trump is conservative enough?

The guy who raised taxes and funded Obamacare doesn’t think Trump’s GOP credentials are sufficient?

That’s hilarious …

Trump wasted little time in firing back …

“I fully understand why Lindsey Graham cannot support me.  If I got beaten as badly as I beat him, and all the other candidates he endorsed, I would not be able to give my support either,” Trump said.  “Every time I see Lindsey Graham spew hate during interviews I ask why the media never questions how I single handily destroyed his hapless run for President.  As a candidate who did not receive one percent in his own state – compared to my victory at nearly 40 percent with many others in the race – he has zero credibility.  He was a poor representative and an embarrassment to the great people of South Carolina.  Judging by the incompetent way he ran his campaign, it is easy to see why his military strategies have failed so badly – we can’t even beat ISIS!”

“While I will unify the party, Lindsey Graham has shown himself to be beyond rehabilitation,” Trump added. “And like the voters who rejected him, so will I!”

Trump’s statement wasn’t entirely correct … Graham was polling at 1.7 percent in his home state when he dropped out of the GOP presidential race just before Christmas.  He later endorsed the candidacy of former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who dropped out after finishing a distant fourth in the “First in the South” presidential primary in February.

Most recently, Graham endorsed U.S. Senator Ted Cruz – even though he’d joked weeks earlier about wanting to see him dead.

Of interest?  Graham’s decision not to support Trump is a violation of the pledge he signed when he filed to run for president as a member of the “Republican” party.
