SCHOOL SEARCHES FOR BANNER VANDALS …

Clemson University officials are hoping surveillance video will help them identify the individual or individuals responsible for hanging bananas on a black history banner this weekend.

“Earlier today a banner highlighting our University’s history was defaced,” Clemson president James Clements wrote in a campus-wide email on Monday.  “This type of conduct is hurtful, disrespectful, unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

“This incident is under investigation,” Clements added.

Hmmmm …

Here’s a pic of the “hanging bananas” sent to us by a state lawmaker …

Yeah …

Look, we don’t claim to have the gray matter of Hercule Poirot but our guess is Clemson’s PC police might want to start their inquiries by questioning the fraternity responsible for “Clemson Cripmas” – a gang-themed holiday party that made national headlines back in December 2014.

That might get them moving in the right direction …

No word yet on whether this “safe space” violation will turn Tigertown into Columbia, Missouri (cue “Concerned Student 1889”) but our guess is it won’t.

Seriously … this school’s signature landmark is named for a guy who lynched blacks.

That seems a bit more protest-worthy than some ripe produce, doesn’t it?

Oh well … this is the school that once declared Taco Tuesday to be racist (no, really), so who the hell knows what will happen.
