FIVE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SAID TO BE ATTENDING

Two socially conservative groups – the Palmetto Family Alliance and the Conservative Leadership Project – will host a presidential forum in Greenville, S.C. next week.  The so-called “2016 Faith and Family Presidential Forum” will be held on Friday, February 12 from 12:30 – 5:30 p.m. EST on the campus of Bob Jones University.

That’s eight days before South Carolina voters head to the polls for the “First in the South” presidential primary election.

According to event organizers, “more than five leading Republican candidates have already affirmatively accepted, along with leaders from a number of national conservative public policy organizations.”

No word yet on whether that presidential total included erstwhile evangelical favorite Mike Huckabee, who dropped out of the 2016 race following a disappointing 1.8 percent showing in early-voting Iowa – a state he won back in 2008.

Moderating the forum?  Palmetto Family president Oran Smith and S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson.
