|| By FITSNEWS || Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina – who is enjoying a bit of a bump in the polls this week – forgot to register the domain name CarlyFiorina.org.

So now someone is cybersquatting on it.  Effectively, we might add …

Don’t believe us?  Click on the image below …

(Click to scroll)

fiorina cyber

(Via CarlyFiorina.org)

For those of you keeping score at home, that’s 30,000 frowny faces.

Oh, and another 15,200 jobs were cut by the company in the five months after Fiorina left Hewlett-Packard in February 2005.

It gets worse, too.  If you scroll all the way to the end of the frowny faces, this message awaits …

That’s 30,000 people she laid off. People with families. And what does she say she would have done differently?

‘I would have done them all faster.’

—Carly Fiorina

Ouch …

According to PolitiFact, Fiorina’s quote about the layoffs was taken out of context … but still.

Fiorina has said the job losses sustained at Hewlett-Packard during her tenure, which began in 1999, were due to the rupturing of the technology bubble in 2000.  Still, she’s received criticism for her decisions at the helm – including the company’s disastrous merger with Compaq in 2002.

She’s also been blasted for getting a $21.4 million severance package upon being fired …

As Fiorina’s star rises in the GOP field, expect the criticism of her corporate record to intensify … as it should.

You got your own problems!

So sure, take your time, is the message people in and around the campaign seem to be sending—but if you end up at yes, you’re going to get hurt. Saint on the sidelines is far different from actual candidate, they want him to realize, when they and everyone else unleash on him, raking through every gaffe and every vote in 36 years in the Senate, digging through his personal life. In the campaign headquarters and in Clinton’s wider orbit, they take care to say how much they like him, how much they respect him, don’t want to say a bad word about him. But “Should a man like Joe Biden run?” is going to be a very different question for them than “Should a man like Joe Biden be president?”

How many jobs did she save by downsizing instead of going under ? A much more pertinent question.

A question I think HP answered by firing her. You don’t fire people who saved you from going under. She screwed up. Thousands lost their jobs. Thousands of shareholders lost money, and they paid her to go away.

Really? I didn’t hear much of that kind of reasoning from the right when it came to the GM and Chrysler bail-outs. Not saying they are the same, but the reasoning of failing to take an action, although it has big downsides, is better than the alternate. The “least-bad” option

Reply
RogueElephant September 24, 2015 at 8:25 am

I said from the start that GM and Chrysler should have used the bankruptcie laws to regroup and do away with the unions. They would have come back stronger, leaner and more able to compete against their non union competition.

That was followed by her campaign chair John Podesta, sprinkling a little of his own shade in front of the pro-Clinton Priorities super PAC in New York—it’s already too late for Biden to mount a real challenge, and he’s not going to decide for a few more weeks on top of that.

They’ve stepped up the roll-out of their endorsements and organization. Their operation is just so massive and well put together, they want Biden and anyone considering supporting him to think, there’s just no space left for him.

Did ever CEO running for Prez say shit like this: ypocrisy? Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has been a hawk on Iran – criticizing Obama for his willingness to relax economic sanctions; claiming the sanctions are “unraveling fast” which she terms a “dangerous development,” warning that Europe is rushing to open the Iranian economy, and accusing Iran of cheating on the sanctions.

Yet when she was CEO of Hewlett-Packard (according to today’s Bloomberg News), the company circumvented strict export sanctions on Iran (imposed by Bill Clinton in 1995) by selling hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of products to Iran through a European subsidiary and a Middle Eastern distributor – allowing HP to obtain 41 percent of the Iranian market for printers by 2007. HP’s general manager for the Middle East was quoted as saying, “Iran is a big market for Hewlett-Packard printers.” Moreover, during her tenure at HP, the corporation’s in-house lobbyists pressed Congress to relax economic sanctions, presumably so HP could sell even more to Iran.

Even if capitalism rewarded failure(which it doesn’t), it’s still more moral than theft & redistribution.

You’ve conflated business failure with the failure of capitalism.

In every capitalist system you have failure. It’s a fundamental component of capitalism itself, winners & losers per se. That’s what competition is about.

Granted, it our current system where you have crony capitalism it’s harder to see, with government interfering with markets on a variety of levels- including picking winners & losers, but that doesn’t change what “capitalism” is and is not.

Crony capitalism, also known as fascism, is rampant in our economy today and distorts & ruins quite a bit.

Reply
Terry September 22, 2015 at 3:54 pm

Nah, he has properly recognized that Capitalism punishing failure does not apply to everyone. It never has, because once you become rich enough, the rules don’t apply to you.

And this had nothing to do with government interfering and picking winners and losers. It had to do with rich and powerful people taking money from small shareholders and employees and giving it to other rich and powerful people.

Reply
TroubleBaby September 22, 2015 at 4:32 pm

“because once you become rich enough, the rules don’t apply to you.”

What rules do you speak of?

” It had to do with rich and powerful people taking money from small shareholders”

The shareholders volunteered their money, it wasn’t “taken”.

A shareholder invests based on research and then voluntarily buys shares, so you are wrong.

“and employees”

Employees were given jobs and paid money for them. Money was not “taken” from them.

Fiorina and management ran the company horribly and as a result many people working for HP lost their jobs, but none of them had “money taken” from them. They lost income, but they were not stolen from.

HP voluntarily employed them, & they voluntary took the jobs. At any point in time either party could step away from the employment agreement.

You do not understand how capitalism works.

Reply
Terry September 22, 2015 at 4:45 pm

Sure I do. Frequently it works like this. You are a CEO. You stack the Board of Directors with friends and people who owe you favors. You pay them a large amount of money to attend a couple of board meetings a year. They vote to give you a huge salary, perks, bonuses, stock options, an almost unbreakable contract, and a golden parachute In case you screw up so bad they have to get rid of you. Finally they vote to put in a poison pill to be sure that shareholders can’t band together with other people and kick you out.

TroubleBaby September 22, 2015 at 4:46 pm

If all corporations functioned the way you describe no one would invest anything.

*generally speaking* (edited)

Terry September 22, 2015 at 4:59 pm

Not all, but there are plenty who do. Most shareholders don’t have a clue what happens inside the Corporation. They rely on brokers, who rely on other brokers, who rely on analysts, who are frequently wined and dined, and aren’t that bright to begin with.

TroubleBaby September 22, 2015 at 5:57 pm

I would take exception to “plenty”, but that’s subjective.

Instead I would suggest that if the corporations were operating in a manner in which wealth was being destroyed as routine instead of exception that there would be no investment.

Capitalism in the net helps humanity, it doesn’t hurt it.

Terry September 22, 2015 at 6:12 pm

Nobody said “Capitalism” hurt humanity. It depends on the the ability of society to separate wealth and political power. Laissez faire Capitalism does in fact harm humanity. Especially when it leads to Plutocracy, as unchecked it will..

To be more specific it rewards profitability, which in turn rewards failure. Executives can make changes that generate short term profits but bring long term devastation. The short term profits turn into bonuses and the golden parachute is there for when the long term consequences bring out the guillotine.

Capitalism does reward failure, unless you’re looking at it from Carly’s eyes while they are looking at her bank account.

All those big banks and mortgage corporations that led to the 2008 mini depression were rewarded for their failures. The executives of those companies that did fail or were bought out to prop up the markets walked away with millions and millions of dollars.

Reply

On one hand, the government did bail them out, so the government rewarded failure as well.

On the other hand, those executives got hefty paychecks to do what they did, and probably still would have made out in the end anyways.

Republican Perspective September 22, 2015 at 2:56 pm

A lot of Republicans only exhibit empathy as a learned trait. For instance, some Republicans have a change of heart on gay issues when they find out their son or daughter is homosexual. It’s the same for relying on welfare in a tough time or being shafted due to poor executive performance. They aren’t able to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, but when they are given the shoes themselves it finally clicks.

Of course, for a lot of them, even that won’t help it click. That’s why GrandTango is on Medicaid and bashes welfare for everyone else. He’s probably got it in his head that he’s the only legit Medicaid recipient, just like the rest of his sad kind.

As soon as she had finished at St Mary’s convent school in Mullingar, a bright young girl named Aileen shook the dust of Ireland off her shoes and made her way to New York
where before long, she became a successful performer in show business.

Eventually she returned to her home town for a visit and on a Saturday night went to confession in the church, which she had
always attended as a child.

In the confessional Father O’Malley recognized her and began asking her about her work. She explained that she was an acrobatic dancer, and he wanted to know what that meant. She said she would be happy to show him the kind of thing she did on stage. She stepped out of the confessional and within sight of Father O’Malley, she went into a series of cartwheels, leaping splits, handsprings and back flips.

Kneeling near the confessional, waiting their turn, were two elderly ladies. They witnessed Aileen’s acrobatics with wide eyes, and one said to the other, “Will you just look at the penance Father O’Malley is giving out this night, and me without me panties on.”

Means this. You are lying and libeling the University.I hope Mr.Bowers and the University sues you:

Retired neurosurgeon and 2016 presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson’s political rally fromCedarville University will be streamed live on the internet at cedarville.edu/bencarsonlive. The rally begins at 2 p.m. from in the Dixon Ministry Center.

The rally, which is a ticketed event, sold out in less than two hours after the Carson campaign announced the Cedarville University location. Doors for the rally open at 12:30 p.m.

Ohio Pub September 22, 2015 at 7:34 pm

My point exactly. The University said it was a sell out. Carson said it was a sell out and you say you just walked in. Which is it? A sell out our you can just walk in? So either you are lying or the Carson Campaign is lying.

flip September 22, 2015 at 7:46 pm

I am ‘special’…???!!!

I would say I have attended MANY sporting events that were ‘sell outs’ and gotten in.Celtics,

RINO Kasich couldn’t get 35 people to walk across the street and watch him babble about ANYTHING! HA HA

Campus appeared busy-lots of students walking around.Must not have been mandatory.

Democrats R Chicken Shit September 22, 2015 at 8:27 pm

Dr. Carson scares the FUCK out of you liberal pieces of shit.

When you begin lying, and peddling your DNC-Fed Bullshit, it speaks volumes about your intimidating level. Eliminating the people you hate – with myths – because you can’t beat them, is the only strategy you know.

Dr. Carson was at Midlands Tech a couple weeks ago, in West Columbia, and thousands showed up – and stayed forever- on a SWELTERING day.

You have VERY LITTLE defense against Carson. You just look smaller and lower attacking him. And you have nothing to run on in your record.

The Pope calls a meeting of all the cardinals.
After they have assembled at the meeting hall in the Vatican, the Pope says, “I have good news and also some bad news. The good news is that I just talked to Jesus. He has been resurrected, so our faith in his existence has been justified.”

One of the cardinals stands up and asks, “What’s the bad news?”

The Pope replies, “He was calling from Salt
Lake City.”

You got your own problems dumb ass!

Joe Biden isn’t running for president yet, but Hillary Clinton’s already running against him.

Clinton and her aides have their line—the vice president deserves the time and space to decide, they repeat over and over and over—and so far they’ve held off the heavy artillery.

Instead, they’re firing warning shots. Tightly targeted warning shots.

The hints from the campaign come in heavy: Biden would be to Clinton’s right if he ran, more out of touch with the party’s progressive base. Surrogates have sounded off, questioning his chances and his political abilities, wondering if he’d be up to the job. Clinton even leapt in herself, bringing him up out of nowhere as she spoke to a woman in a diner last week in New Hampshire to knock him for how disappointing he’d been when they were working on the bankruptcy bill in the Senate.

it sounds like she turned Lucent into a lending scheme similar to the subprime debacle. No wonder those former employees who were stock holders are so pissed off.

She’s horrible. Bad decisions, worse management and even worse handling of said bad decisions.

Just what we need in a president! Some folks, for will hate on Obama for having basically no experience, but love her for her “corporate background”, paying no mind that her “corporate background” and her own personal history is probably worse than what Obama brought.

Whats the best indicator of future performance? PAST PERFORMANCE. At least with her, you know in advance the shitty track record she brings to the table.

This was news two weeks after Carly entered the race. Ya’ll taking the day off?

If you want more, old news; please know Carly stiffed her old staffers from her failed, California Senate run, for two years. They were finally paid moments before her official announcement for President.

Carly, like Trump, is not presidential material.

Instead of being angry with the former CEO of HP perhaps we should be unhappy with the people who created and fed off of the .com bubble. The .com bubble was bigger than any one company. A company that finds itself in a market bubble has to reduce expenses. When people start selling the company stock which means the company has less capital to use for investment then the company has to let people go. It is a matter of survival for the company. If the company goes under because the market cannot sustain the company payroll then everyone is unemployed.
