FORMER GAMECOCK STAR ARRESTED IN CHARLOTTE

|| By FITSNEWS || Former University of South Carolina cornerback Victor Hampton, Jr. was arrested by North Carolina Highway Patrol officers after his Chevrolet Camaro convertible was clocked doing 100 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone on Interstate 77 this weekend.

The 22-year-old has been charged with speeding, reckless driving, open container and driving while intoxicated after police determined his blood alcohol content was .10 – which is above the Tar Heel State’s .08 limit.

News of Hampton’s arrest was first reported by Alexa Ashwell of WSOC TV 9 (ABC – Charlotte, N.C.).

According to Ashwell, Hampton was pulled over at 12:26 a.m. EST on Saturday.  In addition to the charges filed againt Hampton – who was driving the vehicle – two of his passengers were cited for carrying concealed weapons, including one who was also cited for possession of marijuana.

Hampton was booked at the Mecklenburg County (N.C.) jail, and was released on bond.

Here’s his mug shot …

Hampton played on the three greatest teams in South Carolina history from 2011-13 – helping the Gamecocks record three straight 11-win seasons, three straight New Year’s Day bowl games and three straight Top Ten finishes.

South Carolina also defeated Clemson in each of Hampton’s three seasons with the Gamecocks.

After deciding to forego his senior season at South Carolina, Hampton was passed over in the 2014 NFL draft.  The Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants signed him to their practice squads last year, and this year he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

Obviously we wish him the best as he looks to get things back on track …

Sammy Watkins, Chad Kelly, Joe Craig, Duane Coleman, Brandon Thomas, Jamie Cumbie, Deandre McDaniel, Travis Zachery………shall I go on? Well, actually, I can’t. I can’t “keep tracker of all the current and former” taters and “their arrests and prison raps.”

The red flags were flying when Hampton was in high school (multiple high schools). Hlp me out. Exactly what were Cumbie and Zachery charged with.

What you state is true on Hampton and his issues continued through his first year at Carolina, for which he was initially kicked off the team. He was later given one last chance and I believe he kept his nose clean the next few years until he announced for the draft.

lulz..”South Carolina also defeated Clemson in each of Hampton’s three seasons with the Gamecocks.”

I guess when that’s all you got, you gotta say it as much as you can.

And so to the asshole Tater fan who sat behind me at the SC vs. Clemson game Saturday. You showed up late because you had been to the basketball game and you spent three innings bitching about the the officiating at the basketball game.

When you finally started focusing on the baseball you, what, a 60 year old IPTAY dude, (after all they were great seats) started yelling “shut up yardbirds” every 30 seconds. We sat quietly and let you have your rant. You bitched at the umpire every time he called a strike, you laughed and berated a Gamecock player who got hit in the ankle with the ball, you cried out loud when your guys missed a ball, you bitched when they didn’t charge an error to Carolina, and I could go on and on.

It had been a really nice day until your fat-mouthed self came and sat behind us. Your companions apologized for you when YOU LEFT EARLY BECAUSE IT HAD BECOME OBVIOUS THAT CLEMSON WOULD NOT PULL IT OUT. You robbed me of my “how about those yardbirds now?” comment that you so obviously earned by slipping away in the 8th, complaining yet now about how far your fat-assed BBQ eating self had to walk to get to your orange car plastered with 15 years worth of IPTAY stickers.

You, sir, are the epitome of a classless Clemson fan. You should really be ashamed.
For future reference, it is good sportsmanship, especially in a friendly baseball early season rivalry, to behave like an adult. Compliment good plays by both sides, and cheer your team enthusiastically when they do something good.

You bitched about the number of Gamecock fans in your section. That is because you asshole IPTAY members claim all your tickets and then sell them through the vegas scalper to make $80 bucks or so off of upstate Gamecock fans.

I’ll give it to you, at least you showed up to cheer “your” team but you certainly did more harm than good. Watch for the YOUTUBE video that I will be posting later today that shows the world what a sorry and unsportsmanlike fan you are.

You sir deserve the award for confirming what so many people say about Clemson fans. Cheering when a student athlete gets injured and the like earn you TATERHEAD of the YEAR!
