Then what did our wandering eyes see a-coming and going, but a pint-sized “Republican” on a sleigh that read “Boeing.”
That little old driver, decked in deep liberal blue – we knew in an instant it must be St. Hugh (Leatherman).
As wasteful as Washington, his boondoggles they came – as he reached in your pockets to fund them by name;
On “jobs,” on “workforce,” on “health care,” on “education” – yet no one dared question failure’s perpetuation.
Not even “Tea Party” Nikki, who long ago figured – that selling out citizens made her campaign account bigger.
With her bully pulpit quiet and her veto pen dry – she flew donors to India, where she had a good cry.
Incalculable the graft! Incomprehensible the waste! Why, they even robbed you blind to fund S.C. State!
And lest you believe that the shafting was done – just look what they did to your retirement fund! Six-figure bureaucrats taking six-figure pay bumps – with St. Hugh’s henchmen giving “thumbs ups.”
Is there none to illuminate this corruption so dim? Well, we know for a fact it won’t be the state’s MSM!
You see the same people who bring you the news … they get their own payoff from dear old St. Hugh!
That’s why they won’t bother to raise a commotion – or protest when your money gets dumped in the ocean.

Y”all have no fucking clue (much like the main character in the book but most of you will not realize or even care what has been going on in Appalachia since the mid ’60’s) Duke Power and the rest of the power companies in the Carolina and the rest of the southeast are accessories to the rape of Appalachia.
The textile mill “lint heads” are the closest thing to the shit that has been going on in Appalachia but their plight pales in comparison to what “my people” have endured since around the 1880’s.
