GANG-AFFILIATED GUARDS ALLEGEDLY “RUNNING THE SYSTEM”

By FITSNEWS || Another agency in S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley‘s cabinet appears headed for a major scandal …

According to multiple sources at the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice (SCDJJ), the agency is “infested with gangs” – and not just the youthful offenders it is charged with rehabilitating.

After receiving a tip from an informant this week, FITS began looking into allegations of gang activity at the agency – specifically reports that numerous SCDJJ staffers and guards were supplementing their taxpayer-provided income with revenue from various gangs.

According to agency employees who spoke with us on condition of anonymity, the problem is worse than that …

“Bureaucrats don’t run SCDJJ, gang leaders do,” one source at the agency flatly told us.  “The inmates control the facilities. The guards are loyal to the gangs. The leadership is clueless. It’s a mess.”

SCDJJ describes itself as “a treatment and rehabilitative agency for the state’s juveniles,” at least those juveniles who are “incarcerated, on probation or parole, or in community placement for a criminal or status offense.”  The agency runs three detention centers – two for male inmates and one for females.

SCDJJ conducted a study five years ago in which 18 percent of the inmates it surveyed admitted belonging to a gang (compared to 82 percent who denied any gang involvement) – although we obviously take those results with an ocean of salt.

FITS has been provided with an extensive list of items to search for via the state’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).  Needless to say, we’re preparing those inquires now and will keep our readers posted on what we uncover.

Nothing to worry about it. Show boating, good for nothing Joel Lourie will show up and save the day. Just like with DSS, Lourie has watched it for 15 years and done nothing. But now, he can get headlines. Thank goodness for Joel Lourie, our hero.

Lourie’s probably busy making sure his brother in law is keeping the Richland County election office rigged.

According to the “Art of Gang Warfare”……….this taxpayer problem will be beneficial to a contractor “solution”..!!!

Question is…….will Mr. Folks enlighten his readers on which contractors to invest their pensions in to benefit from reading FITSNEWS…?

Its one thing to read about a “scandal”…..its really the bomb to be able to invest in a solution to the scandal before it is reported in the Post and Courier or The State or SKIRT MAGAZINE..!!

What do expect? Do you know who DJJ or SCDC hires? People who barely got out of high school and who are just there for a check. I work in LE and it is well known how incompetent SCDC and DJJ is. Everyone knows they are on the take. Do you know how many female SCDC employees get pregnant by prisoners? Its embarrassing.

I’m never opposed to having an agency investigated. Especially if there is “smoke.” Bureaucrats should always have be able to answer for what they have done. There is far too little whistleblowing and investigation.
