ALEXANDRIA, VA — Former Virginia Governor James Gilmore (R) will address back-to-back-to-back New Hampshire Republican events on September 6, American Opportunity announced today.

Governor Gilmore will speak on the challenges facing America; his proposal for jobs and wage growth on the national level and a new path forward for keeping American’s safe in the 21st century.

“I’m looking forward to enjoying a day of fellowship with new friends, activists and supporters. I’m confident that the NHGOP has laid a strong foundation in preparation for this fall’s elections and look forward to helping turn New Hampshire red this November,” said Gilmore.

Gov. Gilmore previously addressed the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference on March 14, 2014 in Nashua.

About Governor Gilmore: James S. Gilmore, III (@GovernorGilmore) served as the 68th Governor of Virginia from 1998 to 2002 and also served as chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2001 to 2002. Prior to that, Gov. Gilmore was the chief prosecutor for Henrico County, and was elected Attorney General of Virginia in 1993.

In 2003, Gov. Gilmore served as chairman of the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. From 1999 to 2003, he served as chairman of the Congressional Panel, known as the “Gilmore Commission,” that assessed America’s capabilities to respond to a terrorist attack. Gilmore also served at the chairman of the National Council on Readiness and Preparedness, and the National Advisory Commission on eCommerce.

Gilmore is President of American Opportunity (AmericanOpportunity.org), a center-right policy initiative offering positive, constructive, actionable solutions in free-market economics, national security and foreign policy.

Gov. Gilmore is a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 650th Military Intelligence Unit, serving as a counterintelligence agent from 1971 to 1974. Gilmore graduated from the University of Virginia and the UVA School of Law. He is married to Roxane Gatling Gilmore and they have two sons.
