SENATOR CHOSEN FOR COVETED REALTORS’ AWARD
S.C. Sen. Tom Davis will receive the 2014 “Legislator of the Year” Award from the South Carolina Realtors, sources familiar with the forthcoming presentation tell FITS.
The award is a big deal to state lawmakers because the Realtors are one of the largest, most powerful (and most politically active) professional associations in the state.
Davis will receive the award at the organization’s annual conference and expo – scheduled for September 18-19 at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.
Established in 1944, the Realtors boast more than 14,000 members. The group is among the most influential, organized and effective advocacy organizations in the state – especially in the legislative arena.
Davis, 54, is in the middle of his second term as a State Senator from Beaufort County, S.C. Prior to that he served as chief of staff to former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford.
