Korean pop sensation Park Jae Sung (a.k.a. PSY) has released a follow-up to last year’s uber-viral hit Gangnam Style – a.k.a. the most watched YouTube video in history (more than 1.5 billion views at last count).

The song, called “Gentleman,” features the “K-Pop” superstar and members of his entourage playing pranks on unsuspecting females.

The song got a big “thumbs down” from MTV critic Todd Gilchrist, who says PSY has “pretty clearly let mega-success go to his head.”

“The song’s throbbing electro beat immediately recalls the irresistible catchiness of Gangnam Style, but Psy’s performance only showcases how much sillier he’s become in the wake of his emergence as a worldwide phenomenon,” Gilchrist wrote. “Evidently he’s so rich now he can afford to get his tongue surgically embedded in his cheek.”

Of course PSY shouldn’t worry too much about MTV because the network hasn’t played a music video in more than two decades.

Anyway, “Gentleman” has already received more than 32 million views – although we won’t view the song as having “arrived” until these lovely ladies cover it.

I still think it’s pretty cool. There’s always a need for good dance music, plus that stuff comes and goes quick. It’s not like RATM, Tool, Johnny Cash, etc.,

Dance music has limited shelf life.

What makes his stuff fun is the creative vids with the decent back beats. You’re right Will, MTV sucks a dong now so it figures they rip on it because they don’t play vids anymore…youtube kicks their ass.

Dude is a 35 year old chubby, married guy with kids that is a dance music/youtube sensation, GOOD FOR FUCKING HIM!!!

Those are some serious odds he beat.

MTV is nothing more than a turd in the punchbowl. Screw them.

MTV’s only currently redeeming quality is that they brought back Beavis and Butt-head.

He actually cupped a fart and put it in one chick’s face. I think he’s having way too much fun.

Does Todd Gilchrist actually know anything about PSY? He was a goofball before Gangnam Style. This is exactly the kind of music the guy puts out.
