Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Jeff Duncan of South Carolina released the following statement on the passing of Margaret Thatcher:

“I’m saddened to hear about the passing of a great leader and conservative ally, Margaret Thatcher. Prime Minister Thatcher was not only a friend to the United States; she was a friend to all who believed in the promise of freedom. From her leadership against the threat of communism, to her advocacy for limited government policies, she was a voice for untold millions.”

“My family’s prayers go out to Baroness Thatcher’s family, and to the British people, for the loss of a leader who helped define an era.”
