Columbia – As Governor Sanford tries to re-write his history, those in South Carolina who lived through his tenure can’t forget his real record: ethics violations, mismanagement that downgraded South Carolina’s bond rating, and actions that led members of his own party to call for censure. The SCDP released this video, “Gone” to help keep the record straight.
“While national news mavens Joe Scarborough and Mike Barnacle slobber over Mark Sanford, they act like they must have had a serious head injury. Were they awake during the Sanford years? They don’t remember him getting the largest ethics fine in the history of the state? They don’t remember him using taxpayer dollars to book first-class tickets to visit his girlfriend in Argentina? They don’t remember him getting caught spending our tax dollars on private travel and then having to pay it back?
