With the ICAC unit for SCAG prosecuting, this guy will plead guilty to two charges in about three years while the other charges get dismissed. He will get sentenced to what will essentially be a time served sentence, because SCAG Wilson won’t take these cases to trial and get convictions and real sentences.

Maybe things will be better under Pascoe. Lord knows Stumbo will be equally feckless.

How easily “innocent unless and until proven guilty” gets forgotten when the alleged crime is heinous and/or the alleged perpetrator disfavored!
The reason juries do not heed that core constitutional principle is that judges themselves GENERALLY do not believe it and consider it a strike against their tenure on the bench if a jury acquits a criminal defendant.
The judges GENERALLY mouth the presumption of innocence off buried in a long jury charge; and if the juries notice it at all, they also pick up on the judge’s lack of sincerity and conviction in giving it.
