Donald Trump’s Iran War Sparks Pain at the Pump

With America’s employment economy stalling out, U.S. president Donald Trump‘s claim to fame during his second term has been falling fuel prices – which his administration has repeatedly tried to tout as a tax cut.

“We’re gonna be, I think, at $2.00 a gallon,” Trump told reporters back in December. “We could even crack that at some point. I’d love to do it.”

Yeah… about that.

Last week, Trump plunged the nation into another undeclared war – this one against the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a result of this conflict – which is costing our taxpayers more than $1 billion a day – gas prices have skyrocketed. According to the AAA fuel report, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline soared $0.27 last week to $3.25 – one of the highest increases on record.

“The last time the national average made a similar weekly jump was back in March of 2022 during the start of the Russia/Ukraine conflict,” AAA’s report noted.

While prices remain below 2023 and 2024 levels, the spring and summer months typically see upticks in prices due to increased demand. The Iran War is also likely to continue contributing to price increases, although experts do not believe the impact will be as severe as some suspect.

“Our base case view is that the US/Israel attacks on Iran and related broader Middle East disruption will be relatively short-lived and energy prices should revert back to near pre-attack levels, with limited negative impact on the medium-term macro outlook,” noted Nick Brooks, head of economic and investment research at London-based ICG.

However, Brooks warned “in such a volatile and unpredictable environment, (America)’s ability to control outcomes and the risk of unintended consequences remains high, with the U.S. and its potential partners’ ability to restore shipping flows through the Strait of Hormuz particularly critical.”

South Carolina typically boasts some of the cheapest gas prices in the nation – although our citizens spend a higher percentage of their income on fuel costs than residents of other states. As of last week, the Palmetto State ranked No. 15 nationally with a gallon of regular unleaded fuel costing an average of $2.99. Prices were the highest in Charleston County, where a gallon of regular unleaded was running $3.13. The county with the lowest price per gallon of regular unleaded was McCormick, which clocked in at $2.80.

Thanky President Trump! More lies and unfulfilled promises. Please Israel, take him and let him rule at Bibi’s side. We can’t stand anymore of his style of “winning”!

Can anyone see past their nose here? We can stand a short term gasoline hike. Thousands of people will be free of that horrid regime. You protest no kings but protest a dictatorship being unraveled. Biden would be saying “don’t” as they were killing and attacking. Are you this upset about all the fraud under the dems?
Obama, Clinton, Biden and Harris are all on tape saying they would bomb Iran.

LOL, enjoy your Kool Aid. Trump swore that Harris would take us to war and he would not. Operation “Epstein Distraction” is in full swing and you’re 100% on board. How many times are Harris and Biden in the Epstein files? How many time is Trump in there? Congratulations!

Rebecca, we were told we were getting “America First”, not “Israel First”, which is what Trump obviously is. We wanted no Kings in our country. What other countries do regarding their form of government should be up to them, not Trump. For the first eleven months of Trump’s new term, we have enjoyed(sarc) a continuation of the Biden economy, with the same range of gas price fluctuation and high and getting higher grocery prices. Gas prices finally started to drop and now they are heading up, higher than what they ever were under Biden. The increase in gas prices is 100% because Trump attacked a country that was not a threat to us and wouldn’t have been had we just kept our nose out of their business for a change. I don’t care how many times their leader says “Death To America”, they were not an actual threat until we pushed it.

Not only had Trump’s latest adventure in fucktardery caused us problems, much of the Middle East is suffering, too. Dubai is fast running out of food with re-supply either difficult or impossible. Saudi Arabia and others are finding it impossible to market their oil because Iran has closed The Strait Of Hormuz. The Saudis were using a pipeline to move oil to another area of their country but it was blown up, yesterday. Middle Eastern nations are fast finding out that we are not great allies.

I was just reading an article where little Lindsey Graham brags about helping Netanyahu push Trump into invading Iran. Please people of South Carolina, vote this warmongering piece of shit out in the Primaries this year. I have never voted a straight ticket in my life, thinking it a device for dumbasses who are too lazy or stupid to study issues and candidates. I usually, not always, vote Republican or Libertarian. I have made up my mind that if Lindsey is the nominee for US Senate again this year, I am voting straight ticket Democrat. Damn the Republicans and damn their attempt to change our form of government into a damn Jewocracy.
