Alan Wilson would have joined a national group of AGs in redundant litigation that wastes tax money and achieves nothing, but he does NOT prosecute crime. This guy is a deep state hack that is working to keep the swamp full of daddys cronies. Can we be done with this rdiculous boob?
Not defending Wilson’s incompetence but Mace needs to STFU unless she is running for AG or solicitor. She’s an idiot not an attorney, although both are interchangeable at times. She has no idea what it takes to successfully prosecute a case neither does a large portion of the general public. It might do her good to actually attend some trials to see how difficult it is. Mace is simply a self aggrandizing narcissist much like Wilson. The people of SC deserve much better than her and Alan Wilson. Wilson deciding to not run for AG again was a huge win for SC, now if both get booted after the primary it may actually be a great day in SC
Nancy Mace is just using this to her political advantage. It’s despicable
Alan Wilson is a useless AG and is caving to corrupt cops. Listening to the recorded calls from ALL the involved parties it is very evident that Weiss and her cronies at the AG’s office didn’t listen to all the evidence. Just rubber stamped what HCPD had assured Weldon that night. She should not still have a job. It’s all good ole boy BS
Crazy Train Mace calling out Alan Wilson – hate to agree with her but what are you thinking Mr. Wilson?
Weldon Boyd and Bradley Williams are guilty of actively chasing and then shooting to death Scott Spivey over nothing more thana “road rage” incident. To try and defend their actions as a “citizens arrest” or a “stand your ground case” defies all logic.
Stand your ground requires several tests to be met:
The law applies only if you are in a place where you are lawfully permitted to be and are not engaging in any illegal activity – wouldn’t chasing another person at gun point and at speeds exceeding the lawful limit be a violation?
You must have a reasonable belief that you are in imminent danger of death, serious bodily harm, or sexual assault. – wouldn’t pullling over to the side of the road or simply slowing down removed the perceived imminent danger?
Citizens Arrest also has several test that must be met:
You must witness the felony – okay, I’ll grant this one on the assumption that Spivey brandished a firearm – though there is some dispute
You may seize the person: You can physically detain the person to prevent them from escaping. – I guess you could make the case that following Spivey could be construed as an attempt to prevent him from escaping
You may use reasonable force: You are permitted to use a reasonable amount of physical force necessary to make the arrest. – firing 3-4 magazines of 9mm rounds through your own truck window at a guy seems a bit “unreasonable” to me
I am not the world’s biggest fan of Joe or Alan. That said, I cannot help but feel that Alan is 100% right in his defense of our 2A rights as well as his conclusions about this case. I don’t understand why so many are trying to turn Spivey into “the white George Floyd”. You know, George Floyd, they guy who died by his own hand by ingesting deadly drugs but who was hailed nationwide as some kind of saint and martyr, for reasons I will never understand.
Similarly, you have this Spivey guy who by different accounts, was driving in a reckless manner, pointing a gun at people not involved in his road rage incident, and posed a danger to Boyd and Williams. He sounds to have been an absolute danger to anyone in his vicinity, also possibly intoxicated and experiencing “rhoid rage”. Yet people other than his family are soiling their undies over what sounds to be a very much justifiable homicide, same as they did over George Floyd’s passing by his own hand.
Nancy Mace, ever the political opportunist, is trying to use the grief of the decedent’s family to further her political ambitions. She has no shame.
Release the Epstein files Nancy!
