correct because of the high cost of insurance, if you can get it, trying to buy a home in a flood plane, greatly reduces the value pre flood. if you have a mortgage you will have to have it no matter what the price, and that is why those people are truly fucked
Yeah, since gubmint subsidies of flood insurance are phasing out it is getting VERY expensive. Look at Zillow for any of our coastal housing areas. Notice how many are for sale. Wait. What? You want gubmint welfare to subsidize your flood insurance? Well gosh, you deserve it. You’re white and make a lot of money

You can see details from space that can’t be seen from the ground. You wouldn’t even notice the state boundaries on the ground. They are even visible through the clouds. :-P
Fox News is reporting 4 dams have “burst”. I live in a lake community with a dam that holds the lake (I think 20 acres) to a certain level. No houses of note are down stream. Not to belittle the impact, but it is not exactly Murray, Fontana, or the Hoover that broke, is it?
