CONGRESSMAN URGED TO STAY CONSISTENT IN OPPOSING FAR LEFT’S “NO BORDERS” PUSH
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy is drawing rave reviews from national limited government leaders for the leadership role he took in opposing a planned “refugee resettlement” in Spartanburg, S.C.
Remember that scam? We broke open its seedy underbelly in this post earlier this month.
Of course Gowdy is also being challenged to remain consistent in his position … resisting efforts by the administration of Barack Obama to achieve the same ends via a backdoor trade deal.
“Trey Gowdy gets tremendous credit for rebuking the open borders push in Spartanburg. But now he must see the issue through and rebuke Obama’s efforts to pursue the same policies through unfair, anti-competitive trade deals,” Bill Wilson of the group Americans for Limited Government wrote in a letter to the editor of Premium News Network. “One firm stand deserves another.”
According to Wilson’s letter to the Upstate, S.C. news outlet, “if Gowdy wishes to remain consistent in his opposition to the far left’s open borders push, he must also oppose ‘Obamatrade.'”
We agree …
FITS has previously reported on how Obamatrade is bad for America (see HERE and HERE) – and how it’s especially bad for South Carolina (HERE and HERE). Accordingly, we’ve called on our state’s “conservative” congressional delegation (including Gowdy) to oppose it – joining those responsible members of the U.S. Congress who have already taken a stand.
Let’s hope they do just that.
Wilson is correct: One firm stand does deserve another.
