Dear Friends,

The citizens of South Carolina have chosen to re-hire me for another term. I am humbled, enthused and energized by their trust and approval – and I am thankful for the opportunity to provide proper stewardship of their money for another four years.

In 2010, I promised to make transparency and accountability the cornerstones of my efforts to protect your money. I am proud to say that I have done just that. Some insiders and special interests are not happy with me, but I don’t work for them – I work for you!

Our campaign was positive. We traveled extensively and listened to the voters – and we heard them loud and clear. The people want their money and assets protected, the retirement fund to be transparent and well governed, and fraud, waste and abuse in state government to be exposed.

Their mandate is simple, and we understand it. So tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we go back to work with only one goal in mind – to serve the people of South Carolina by fulfilling their expectations.

I want to offer my sincere gratitude to all my supporters, volunteers, friends, and family. Your support has made all of this possible and I look forward to what we can accomplish in the coming years!

Curtis

Curtis Loftis
South Carolina Treasurer

Does the end of this election mean that irritating Loftis video ad that popped up every time I came to FITS will now finally stop?

Got to love a political blog website that has ads for a politician.

Oh, Curt, it’s so obvious that you are the one posting these responses, jackass! You updated your facebook status at the same time. Aren’t you supposed to be working instead of trolling on the internet? Wouldn’t your fire your employees for blogging on state time? Are you exempt, you immoral hypocrite?

Two ethics complaints to be filed against Loftis within the next two weeks. Serious ones that might involve federal authorities. You can run curty my boy but you can’t hide. Right, moron these criticisms of what you’re doing will not stop at this election.

62% v 38%
Congratulations Mr. Loftis

Reply
Matthew June 11, 2014 at 6:08 am

Considering Brian Adams from what I read on here had basically no campaign money to spend, getting close to 40% vs an incumbent isn’t too shabby.

Reply
True June 11, 2014 at 8:02 am

You are correct, Matthew! If the “big money” investment commission guys were behind Adams, where is that money? 38% of the vote is excellent for someone who barely campaigned.

Reply
Cash June 11, 2014 at 8:10 am

It is a landslide. I don’t think you can call it anything other than that. Had Loftis been the typical, be quiet kind of constitutional officer he would have gotten an extra 5%, but he has pissed off some people. In my opinion, he has pissed off all the right people.

Bill Cash Rick= Curtis June 11, 2014 at 8:57 am

That ain’t no landslide, jack! I bet you were sweating your @$$ off. You just managed to fool a lot of folks, and soon they will realize how bad. Had adams campaigned like most typical politicians, you wouldn’t be posting comments here and on facebook on taxpayer time, you would be doing it from home. And you may try to forget how you campaigned in the past, but we all remember and know the only reason you ran a “clean”” campaign is because your little minions could not find anything negative on your opponent. Remember 2010 and the tricks you pulled? You haven’t changed a bit, your just couldn’t find anything this time. But those pissed off people you refer to are probably still pissed. Are you ready?

In debt June 11, 2014 at 8:15 am

We’re you sweating, Curtis? LOL!! A unknown from Spartanburg got 38% of the votes, with no name recognition (like you) and no campaign debt (unlike you). How are you going to pay that $717,000 loan? Are you just going to carry it over to your next campaign?

Reply
Confederate liberal June 11, 2014 at 9:34 am

One will be filed today that will be particularly problematic for Mr. Loftis.

Reply
Karis Ann Pierce June 11, 2014 at 6:27 am

Brian Adams, a complete political unknown with no money scores over 37% of the vote against a well-funded well known incumbent. Mr. Loftis, if he decides to run against you again, if I were you, I would be worried. There is obviously significant dissatisfaction with how you handle yourself. Get yourself a little psychological help as you begin your second term. You will be surprised how much good it will do you–and us.

Here is an irritating fact for you haters:

In the counties where these hate mongers live, Loftis won or in some cases did very well. Notable are:

Richland is home to Sam Griswold and his “Retiree Association.”
Spartanburg is home to Brian adams,
Florence is home to Reynolds Williams and Hugh Leatherman
Dorchester is home to Converse Chellis
Lexington is home to Scott Malyerck.

This proves the counties exposed to the haters and their vitriol voted for Loftis by some of the largest margins.

Loftis had predicted 58/42 because of his stance against certain special interest and insiders and an ant-incumbent tide. He beat those expectations.

My college days are over. This is my last post. I am no longer tasked with winding you fellows up and keeping you busy, which by the way was very easy. So the blog is yours. My job is finished.

No, Curtis, you’re wrong. You know you can’t stay away frm this site and making comments, and the tasks are far fom over. What is before you will require a crooked defense lawyer, so get ready to be exposed for what you really are. Using the same terms like “vitriol” and “hate mongers” gives you away.

Curtis, your lack of education and research skills is clearly showing. You have “proved” nothing through recitation of these associations. And beating your own expectations set by you proves nothing. My expectations were that Brian Adams would get 10% of the vote. He got 4 times my expectations. What does that prove? Well with that and a dollar I can get a cup of coffee, maybe.

Reply
Poor curt June 12, 2014 at 8:34 am

Earlier he predicted he would win by 73%. Now that the race was closer than anyone expected, he is backpedaling like crazy, saying he knew running a clean campaign would cost him 10% of the votes. Don’t you know he was crapping his pants when those numbers starting rolling in. That in itself, is enough to make me laugh! Loftis knows he only squeaked through. If this had been the general election in November and the Democratic Party had a candidate, his lying, cheating, hypocritical behind would be out. Hey, maybe a petition candidate will give it a run!

FYI: No longer in the Palmetto State, now a Tarheel, but do find SC politics amusing and, although I seldom agree with him, have much respect for S. Willie’s sense of humor and work ethic. Know your treasurer through NAST. Of the 49+ other members, only a handful work as hard as this guy. You’ll perhaps notice that, over the past 4 yrs, I have satirized a number of SC political figures. R. Williams and his unctuous thugs are supremely worthy of lampooning. It’s people like him, Bill Eckstrom, and even your insipid governor, that make SC the butt of late night TV jokes. And the guy Griswold–whatever the hell he does for the RIC crowd?–why, there’s a master clown for you.

Lol June 12, 2014 at 12:24 am

Upon a google search of NAST, there are only 38 treasurers/CFOs. Not 49. Therefore you’re not a random troll from NC, you’re (wait for it)… Curtis Loftis, Treasurer of South Carolina!

Curt June 12, 2014 at 5:19 am

Exactly. No one who is out-of-state even knows any of those people referenced exist, especially sic and griswold. Dead giveaway. Loser.

The Attorney General, SC Ethics Commission, the SC Inspector General, Funston Fiduciary Auditors, and the SC SC Senate Select Committee on the Investment of Retirement Funds and if you don’t know who is in charge of these government and private sector groups you don’t need to be posting.

No sworn testimony, so subpoenaed documents. The state of SC investigates a 29 billion dollar plan over coffee and a danish. Like people tat would do wrong doing would tell you what they did just because you asked!

Wayne B June 16, 2014 at 8:44 pm

It is obvious you are not a former agent of a law enforcement agency or you would know that investigations by investigatory bodies such as the AG or the Inspector General do not swear people in but instead rely upon documentable evidence to produce a finding. They found no evidence of wrong doing. The Senate Subcommittee did swear people in at the insistence of Loftis who in my opinion proceeded to stretch the truth. Your obsession with sworn testimony and supoenas is nothing more than an attempt to cast doubt since five independent public and private organizations did not support Loftis’ three year attempt to destroy the Investment Commission through lies and innuendo.

Former agent, my @$$ June 16, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Nice try, Curtis. Once again, EVERYONE else is insane. When you start saying everyone else is the problem, you might need to take a good look in the mirror. Sort of like saying that 5 different agencies who discovered no wrongdoing at RSIC are all wrong. It’s just not possible. Your lies fooled a lot of uninformed people. Now lets see how much you destroy with your stupidity. You’re in way over your head. You don’t have a financial background. Yeah, that’s right, hypocrite. Everyone you hire has to have an accounting degree or law degree because you don’t have a clue what you are doing.

We will witness the demise of the Office of State Treasurer within the next four years, thanks to the uninformed voters that re-elected this nit-wit. Much of the staff has already left, some of them walked without even having another job. That should tell you plenty about the discord in that office. Many more were waiting for the election results before they took off. Get ready. You can rehire for those positions but a college education doesn’t come close to experience. Unfortunately, the uninformed voters dont realize there’s many more functions performed in that office than just the College Savngs Program and the Unclaimed Property Program. But then how could they? Hell, the way it appears, Curtis Loftis doesn’t realize it either.
