Michael Luppe today announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the office of Comptroller General of South Carolina.

“The Comptroller General has a responsibility to uphold the trust of South Carolinians and to protect taxpayer dollars. I believe we can do better. It is time to breathe life into the Comptroller’s office and I intend to work tirelessly to restore trust and efficiency because South Carolinians should expect nothing less.”

Michael Luppe is a businessman who resides in Hartsville, South Carolina with his wife, Andrea of 13 years. Luppe is committed to reforming the office of Comptroller General to provide South Carolinians with a Comptroller we can trust.

“Having spent a career in private sector business, I understand that if you fail at your job – you miss deadlines and you underperform – you get fired. I am going to restore trust to the Comptroller’s office and I will make it a priority to work with all sides to attack the state’s massive pension fund liability.”
