Today’s Tuneage: “Sirens”

I’m still writing my review of this week’s big Pearl Jam concert in Charlotte, N.C. but for those of you who haven’t heard the band’s newest song “Sirens” we couldn’t wait that long to share it in this reboot of “today’s tunege.”

Eddie Vedder and Co. played this song twelfth during their amazing 30-song set at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Wednesday night, shortly after Vedder teased the crowd with an update on the score of the Boston Red Sox-St. Louis Cardinals’ World Series game.

“There might be sirens in Boston tonight,” he announced.

“Sirens” is also featured prominently in this moving tribute to former New Orleans Saints’ player Steve Gleason, who is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Anyway, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but I think this is quite possibly the best song Pearl Jam has written in years.

When are these self righteous celebrities and liberal politicians going to stop dancing on the graves of Sandy Hook? Eddie has a Jesus complex 5000 miles wide. STFU and sing.

A much better song with the same title, featuring Columbia, SC’s own Zak Stevens.
