Alec Baldwin To Join MSNBC

Alec Baldwin is in negotiations to host a new primetime television show on MSNBC, the website Mediaite is reporting.

“The so far untitled show will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET and will feature a large dose of Baldwin’s outspoken liberal politics,” Mediaite’s Joe Concha wrote, adding that “Baldwin’s fiercely liberal and often combative political views make sense for a network that has become the place for progressive viewpoints on cable.”

Look, we love Baldwin … at least we loved his faux crony capitalist character Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, and we loved him as Pete Schweddy (of “Schweddy Balls” fame). He was also great as Jack Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt For Red October.

Off camera, though, Baldwin is known for being insufferable … and insufferably liberal. Which means we have zero interest whatsoever in watching his show. Of course we don’t watch cable news (“progressive” or “conservative”) to begin with, so …

Great actor, though, especially in the two films, “The Juror” and “Glengarry Glen Ross”. Otherwise, an asshole.

I prefer Steve. Not a great actor but made some nice Christian pics I liked. I’m also big on off (G movies?) SIFI stuff. He played in some great story lines.

Frank, you should check out this site – you’ll find something to enjoy (copied from my post to Polyphemus this morning) —–
No virus. I should have linked to the film noir page, and I posted at the end of this list for you, but if you go to the search blocks you will find all sorts of good stuff, including radio programs. The movies are all in the public domain, and are about 60 – 90 minutes long. These were from the era when there was lots of dialogue and interesting plots. Several that I like are—

1) Detour [mentioned above]

2) Kansas City Confidential [ John Payne, Lee Van Cleef, Neville Brand, and Jack Elam]

3) He Walked By Night [Richard Basehart, Jack Webb]

4) DOA [Edmond O’Brian]

5) Walk The Dark Streets [Chuck Conners – like you’ve never seen him before]

Have fun surfing this site. For the radio programs two excellent ones are Dragnet and Amos & Andy, which have over 300 programs each. Most of them will automatically roll-over to the following episode automatically when there is a series of them on one listing page.

Start with this film noir page and surf backwards in the search blocks—

“Yes. Where is that bad boy?” He asked slyly, little knowing that the great Henri Shiftdeenie had already guessed who this stranger was.

I liked him in “the Hunt for red October.” and the chick flick he released last year. I think MSNBC will get a bump and then he will dwindle.

Baldwin is a progressive, liberal, lefty-no one can argue that. No one can argue that MSNBC is the liberal version of Fox News. What I want to see, is when MSNBC puts Chris Matthews, Rachel Mad-cow, and Baldwin on the same show. Judging by the ego’s and superiroty complexs these three have, there won’t be any oxygen left in the room and I’m beting Baldwin and Mad-cow will be fighting on the set (especially when he loses his composure and curses her out). All they will need is Michael Buffer and “…Let’s Get Ready To Rumble!!…”

Who was it that used to argue with Buchannan all the time?

Not sure how his MSNBC gig will turn out, but cable news is shit as it is.

Msnbc will has a way to go to get as low as Fox. Fox however gave birth the msnbc. At least we get to see Olberman on Espn, I’m sure he will dish out a zinger or two there. The anti-Rush of MNF. His daughter Ireland is a sight to behold. 6 feet tall and smart.

The nerve of this guy! A spokesman for the least among us? Hasn’t he (selectively and with blinders) read his Bible?
