Suspected shooter(s) remains at large …

Two people were killed and at least eight people were wounded in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 21, 2019 when shots rang out at a crowded nightclub in Lancaster county, South Carolina. Deputies with the Lancaster county sheriff’s office are leading the investigation into the shooting, although no arrests have been made as of this writing.

Also, no suspects are currently in custody …

The shooting took place at around 2:45 a.m. EDT at the Old Skool Sports Bar located on Old Charlotte Road just north of the intersection of S.C. Highway 9 and U.S. Highway 521.

The club is a predominantly black establishment, local sources tell us.

“The club was occupied by a large number of people,” a statement from the sheriff’s office noted. “Shots were fired inside and outside the club. Investigators do not yet know whether more than one person fired a weapon.”

Ten people sustained gunshot wounds in the incident, included two adult males who died of their wounds. Four others were “airlifted to medical facilities for treatment,” according to the statement, while another four were “being treated at a local medical facility for non-critical injuries.”

One individual sustained non-critical injuries attempting to flee the hail of gunfire.

“This was a violent incident of huge magnitude that was witnessed by lots of people,” sheriff Barry Faile said. “Two people are dead, and many more are seriously injured. The shooter or shooters are out there. We need to talk with everybody who was at the club when the shooting happened, and I encourage those witnesses to contact us immediately so those responsible for these deaths and injuries can be taken into custody.”

“This event is very tragic and will affect all involved, for years to come,” Lancaster coroner Karla Deese added. “The sheer magnitude of injury is like none I have seen in my 14 years with the coroner’s office.”

Deese identified the two victims as 29-year-old Henry Lee Colvin of Rock Hill, S.C. and 28-year-old Aaron Harris of Kershaw, S.C.

Anyone in possession of any information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Lancaster sheriff’s office at 803-283-3388 or Midlands Crimestoppers at 888-274-6372.
