AUSTIN- Today, Stanford Campaigns, a national opposition research firm based out of Austin, TX, announced that “retiring” South Carolina Representative Boyd Brown was joining the Stanford team as Vice President for Business Development.

“I’m leaving the legislature, but I’m staying in politics,” said Brown. “Cutting my political teeth in South Carolina, I have a clear understanding that politics is a blood sport. I look forward to going from the guy who brought the gun to the knife fight to the guy supplying the ammo. I’m still going to keep politicians honest. Now, it’ll just be my livelihood.”

Jason Stanford, founder and CEO of Stanford Campaigns, welcomed Brown aboard, a move that immediately expands Stanford Campaigns’ client base into the Carolinas and across the Southeast.

“Boyd Brown is more than a bomb thrower. Boyd is a rare political talent, and we’re excited to have him join our team,” said Stanford. “But yeah, he’s a bomb thrower. That’s going to come in handy, because throwing bombs is what we do for a living.”

Rep. Brown is retiring from the South Carolina House of Representatives after two terms as the leading Democratic voice in the Palmetto State. Last month Brown was elected to the Democratic National Committee, and just this week, The Washington Post referred to Brown as the “Voice of a Generation.”
