Until recently, Ginger Thompson was the principal at Beech Springs Intermediate School in Duncan, S.C.  In fact Spartanburg County School District 5 – Thompson’s former employer – still has her biography posted on its website.

Check it out (before they pull it) …

As noted in her biography, Thompson is married with two children. Her husband, Randy, is an athletics coach at Wren High School in Easley, S.C.

Here’s a picture of the happy couple …

So … why are we writing about Ginger Thompson?

Well, earlier this year she abruptly resigned her post as principal of Beech Springs. How come? We’re not sure yet … at least not officially. After all Spartanburg School District 5 won’t even provide us with an effective date for Thompson’s resignation – let alone discuss her reasons for stepping down.

Again, though … what’s the big deal? Sure it’s fun to write about local educrat sex scandals (we’re told that’s what this is) but such scandals are not statewide news.

At least not usually …

After receiving a tip from an anonymous source alleging a “Haley connection” to Ginger Thompson, we were able to confirm through our sources in S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s office that both the governor and her husband, Michael Haley, were “closely following” Thompson’s situation – which has yet to be mentioned by any mainstream media outlets.

Hmmmm …

Why would the Haleys care about the abrupt resignation of a middle school principal in the Upstate? Particularly when the alleged scandal that prompted her decision to step down has absolutely nothing to do with them?

Those are good questions … and we hope to have some answers for our readers soon.
