For those of you unfamiliar with WOLO TV 25 (ABC – Columbia, S.C.), don’t worry … you’ve got plenty of company.

The station – headquartered right across the street from the S.C. State House – has been “live, local … and late” for years. In fact we’re pretty sure there are elementary school student newscasts which consistently draw more viewers.

Jacinda Garabito

Anyway, WOLO does have one redeeming quality – its scorching hot weekend weather girl, Jacinda Garabito (website, Facebook, official bio).

Yeah … she’s E-verifiably muy caliente, people.

A native of Virginia, Garabito isn’t just a smokin’ hot weather babe –  she also writes a magazine column, runs a blog and owns her own business.

Anyway, our founding editor’s fortuitous discovery of Garabito last weekend reminded us that it’s been far too long since we last doled out our coveted Veronica Corningstone Award to the region’s hottest news babe.

So … while we continue to accept nominations’ for our “Hot Lawyer” competition … we’d like to also open the floor to your suggestions for “Hot Newsbabe.”

How do you nominate someone? That’s easy … just email us with their picture or a link to their official webpage. We keep all submissions confidential, but if you’d prefer to stay completely anonymous you can always submit your nominee through our contact or submissions pages, or just post links into our comments section at the end of this story.

Our only requirement is that your nominee be an on-air personality at a television station that serves one of the Palmetto State’s seven designated metropolitan areas – Augusta (Georgia), Charleston, Charlotte (N.C.), Columbia, Florence-Myrtle Beach, Greenville-Spartanburg or Savannah (Georgia).

Who do we like (in addition to Jacinda, obviously)?

Morgan Fogarty

Well, we never stopped crushing on Dianne Gallagher (WCNC – Charlotte) – winner of our inaugural Veronica Corningstone Award – and we’ve recently become quite fond of her fellow Queen City hottie, Morgan Fogarty (WCCB – Charlotte).

Our founding editor has also always had a thing for reporter Holly Bounds Jackson (WSAV – Savannah), and lately he’s been crushing pretty hard on morning show host Kimberly Kelly (WSPA – Spartanburg) – whose insanely hot stems may wind up giving her a “leg up” on the field.

And obviously let’s not forget TV hotties who work behind the camera – like our former intern Ashley Hester (WMBF – Myrtle Beach) and marketing executive Liz Gunn (WACH – Columbia).

Those are just some of our suggestions … in the meantime we look forward to receiving your nominations!
