By FITSNews || We’re not into track and field, so the names Walter Dix and Tyson Gay mean absolutely nothing to us.
One of them won an Olympic medal … or maybe they both did? Who knows … like we said, it’s track and field (yawn).
Anyway, one thing we do know is that Dix and Gay (or Gay and Dix if that floats your boat) will be forever linked in headline immortality. That’s because a Reuters copy editor who clearly doesn’t have his mind in the gutter like we do selected this headline for Saturday’s race featuring the two American sprinters:
Yeah … “Tired Gay succumbs to Dix in 200 meters.”
The article (click here to read it) goes on to reference how this was a “hotly-anticipated” race. It also quotes Gay as saying “it wasn’t bad, but I was a little fatigued toward the end. I tried to stay relaxed and bring it home, but it wasn’t enough.”
Dix was quoted as saying that he was “a little sloppy out of the blocks,” but was able to “hold on.” He added that he was “a little beat up, too.”
